Killer Rank with good games

So I started playing DBD a year ago. I really did not know about the ranking system nor really cared to. I just played for fun. On almost all my games I have sacriced or killed 3/4 people or all 4.

I have recently learned about the ranking system and so far im a yellow 15 with only 2 pips.

If I'm doing well almost every game then why is my rank bad?

Could these be factors?

- I do not play everyday.

- once in a while I will have a bad game. Sometimes the survivors really do work together.

- I like to switch up killers alot.

- I use add ons and perks.

You gradually progress in the ranking system the more you gain pips and level it up. Every month on the 13th, the ranks will reset one rank backwards from your current rank to keep things fresh for every new month. Ranks that ignore this are Grey and Yellow I believe, so you shouldn't have to worry about this.

As for "Why is my rank so bad?" it's probably because you don't consistently play everyday to keep gaining progress towards it. It won't progress on it's own, it requires a lot of dedication and time to keep leveling it up. Sometimes if you play "really bad" for one match, you'll get something called a "Entity Displeased" match results, which usual indicates that your match results were very poor and that you didn't even "black pip" to not lose a pip that game.

"Black pips" are a term that players use to describe a section of the scoring system that tells you you're not going to pip up, but you're not going to pip down either. You can see your emblem score-board at the end of every game to know if you "black pipped" or not. But the match results usually tell you this off the bat. Entity Displeased is a depip, Brutal Killer is breaking even, Ruthless Killer is 1 pip, and Merciless Killer is 2 pips.

Switching up Killers isn't really the issue here, but if it's getting you more losses because of that than it's best to stick to who you're comfortable with and than eventually branch out when you understand the game some more. Also add-ons and perks are not the issue here, you're supposed to use those to gain certain advantages in-game.

    here's my best advice...

Play as much as you can, if you want to that is, and keep learning and adjusting to your role as The Killer. You won't instantly get to Red Ranks, the game is different for everyone who first plays it, so you might understand it instantly or you might understand it eventually.

If you're consistent, active, and progressive with your progress in-game than you will eventually see results with your rank and Killers as well. Pick a main maybe? Try sticking with a set few Killers before expanding out to others, it'll give you some insight to how those specific Killers work before you spread out to entirely different ones later.

I wouldn't personally play the strongest Killer off the bat, but The Oni, Hillbilly, Michael Myers, Ghostface, and even The Pig are a decent start. Most of these Killers are mid-tier, The Pig is mid/low, while The Oni and Hillbilly are usually on the side of Top Tier.

I would advise, if you want to pip, to learn how the ranking system works and what you have to do, not to do and to what degree you need to do it to get a certain result.

for example i know that with a decent chase and 3 pallet stun as a sirvivor i get gold/iri boldness score. Which is 3/4 points in the ranking system

That's a good point, @TheShadow78 will probably need this to the DBD Wiki post on emblems then. Also FYI TheShadow78, the post for that link says that the Gatekeeper emblem is not up-to-date, so you'll have to refer to other source material for that one. Unless asked, than I can summarize it in someway for you.

I’ll add that the reason for that should not to play only to get the points to pip but to keep in mind how it works so you can “adjust” certain decisions/actions to gain those extra points.
