Smaller maps was a bad idea
Now there is even less time to do anything if you want to escape as survivor, making doing gens even faster as the only viable option now that map size went down.

I think it's more of a matter of gen placement. I've seen spawns that are definitely questionable with how cramped up they are. They're basically 3 or even 4 right from the beginning. I can see hostage builds and doc becoming popular.

All of the maps should be small. Helps level the playing field for all killers.

im doing fine, just wish my team would actually do something... escaping is a team effort, you shouldnt be focused on escaping but doing well. besides maybe the smaller maps will push some red ranks back to purple/green where they belong skill wise

That is just not true at all.
Killers with high mobility now have a much easier time because map size went down.

maps should be small but the gen placement seems extremely sus rn

It's more preferable imo to help the killers that are hurt by big maps.

If you're having trouble now its because you were abusing infinites before. My groups having no trouble whatsoever, and it feels like the games are more fair all around. Git gud

yes, losing 1 gen in maps like groaning storehouse because it was literally a 50/50 was a genius design idea and should have been kept.

Git gud apply pressure to gend

I play both sides and I enjoyed the game the most before the ruin nerf. Now it seems like everything is on a chopping block. I’m ok with getting rid of infinite loops but making the maps smaller with less pallets is not the solution especially with the dedicated servers. I’m trying to conserve pallets and still get hits after pallet is already dropped

no it wasn't,the maps we're resized for a reason

Smaller maps are a survivor buff...
Get to gens alot quicker
Go for saves alot quicker
Hook Sabo quicker
Since 4 survivors move around at the same time less distance for both "teams" (killer vs survivor) it means that the survivors can cover 4 times as much ground in the same time. Its a massive buff

I think it was a good way to even up the power levels of killers a little bit. Easier chases and mobility for all = less disparity between the performance of individual killers.

Why should the playing field be levelled? If you make maps too small, stealth/mobility killers essentially become useless because there is no point to being stealthy/ having mobility on a small map.
a killer designed to be slower should not be having the same ease as a mobility killer in getting across the map. Lol

Meanwhile, at red ranks, I'm escaping about 70% of my games.
Yep, impossible.

Any killer with normal movement speed is hurt by big maps. They take too long to travel across, which wastes a lot of the killer's precious time.
There's no question that maps have to be smaller. All killers should be able to get across the map reasonably quickly. Many of the maps we have now cannot be traveled reasonably quickly.

Won't matter. You still get matched with them. 🙄

OK, this is a bit too far. The patch was in no way a survivor buff. Slow your roll.

Glad this is your experience. The teammates I've had have been terrible today. 😐 So obnoxious seeing red ranks be idiots. Wtb better a rank system and skill based matchmaking. 😐

You dont get the point.
He is saying that making maps smaller is just limiting survivors options and basicly forcing them to do gens as fast as possible.

Besides the asylum no other map had its pallets amount reduced

Recently there was 4 gens walking distance away from eachother... Looked something like that:
..............g
g.......................... g
..............g

A lot of people on here don't want a fair and just game. They want a punching bag that they can abuse.

Small maps are good, but they should make more spots for survivors to hide and use. Too many dead zones also.

Play 5 matches in Mother's Dwelling and 5 matches in Father Campbell's Chapel. You'll quickly see which one feels more balanced and which feels like you're slogging through mud.

Nope, It wasnt

Yes , smaller maps = Advantage Killer . On the other hand it means survivors need to brush up your stealth skills instead of running around like a chicken with its head cut off and then whine when you get caught ! I myself am not too happy with some of the new features like sucking the life out of a hooked survivor but its something we all will have to deal with .

Yes, maybe you are right, maybe not i am not sure yet, but what he is trying to say is a different story. Survivors will after those changes even be more dedicated to rush those gens. I dont know if that will be the case but that is is opinion obviously. In the direct interaction with the (possible) upcoming meta, genrush builds might become very popular. Survivors need a way to defende, and rushing those gens with perks like Prove thyself and BNPs might become the next killers nightmare.

The smaller maps feels just more boring than earlier tbh.
