You need to do a TLDR; because I'm not going to sit here and watch an 11-minute video.

I am voting undecided because folks may come back and play or just be more likely to engage the content after a patches to check it out. So the spike in players may just be a natural occurrence related to curiosity. I do agree that BHVR should focus more on the main game and playability over new outfits and the like.

On a side note, the matches in the background of this video also highlight a reason folks are leaving this game for greener pastures, there was a ton of toxic, ridiculous game play going on there, filled to the brim with tunnel and slug. No one wants to play with a bro behaving like that. And you even see in the video survivors just giving up to get out of the match. Maybe this guy should check his behavior before pointing the finger at the devs for failing to consistently grow numbers.

    I don't agree

Only part of the video I agree with is SenzuDuck’s tweet.

I feel like it's too soon to say if people are really coming back for balance changes because they actually want balance. If they came back for balance, then I assume they'd stay longer, but who knows. Maybe they don't like it and the player base declines again. I've always assumed the reason people come back is to have fun with a change. Like for Doctor. My friends personally didn't care about Doctor and actually still don't. They came back not because they thought, "Oh, wow. A balance Doc finally deserved." They came back, because they thought his rework would be cool, but found out Doctor changed only a tad in a survivor's POV. When Freddy got reworked, they actually were around for a tad, but left because of Forever Freddy. It all really depends. A graph can only say so much. I think if the player base remained high, then that says something was done right, I guess?

Yeah, it's too early, but the video is a general prediction

True. Let's hope he's right. Regardless, I think our current player base isn't awfully small, but the more, the merrier of course.

I agree. Personally we have more then enough content in game too keep people engaged while they fix their spaghetti code and make balance and health changes. Its what I feel most of the community wants. Having a new killer is fun but if they are barely functional and then you find that the rest of the game is broken it ruins the new content.

More Content = More Players, like how Senzu said. Space's point was that 'Core balance changes lead to more players' but then he also lists off changes to specific killers as examples. That's not core balance, and the only core balance changes we've really had has been this last update. Balance changes as a whole will bring new players, not just the core ones.

Not completely, but i guess i agree enough.

Fixing core issues will definitely make the game more enjoyable, and it'll keep those who enjoy the gameplay.

But the simple act of it being fixed isn't the only thing why people came back.

The huge Nightmare & Doctor fixes were also huge changes.

People also love new stuff, plain and simple.

I pointed out to SpaceCoconut before that the playerbase was climbing, and he pointed out it later slowly dwindled.

That was around a new chapter release.

To simplify, i'd say: New = more players, fix = keep the players.

Fixing it is a part of becoming big.

An important part that mustn't be ignored, but it's not the only piece.
