Hex system is terrible

The Hex’s totems are so obvious and can spawn right next to generators so they can’t be missed. The perk thrill of the hunt which is meant to improve them is a hex itself and can be taken out easily. Worse still there is no indication for the killer as to which totem is which when using multiple so you can’t prioritise which one to defend. If the Hex system remains in this state because of Ruin being so strong by all means nerf it and improve the system overall.

People complain about NOED but I can see why killers use it as it is at least semi reliable compared to other Hexes since it isn’t going to be just removed in passing by a survivor while you are juggling your time between chases, searching and patrolling gens.

Hex-Perks are a Risk/Reward-System. So you should not rely too much on them. Personally, I feel them more frustrating than good, which is the reason why I did not use pre-nerf Ruin. It stressed me more out to have a Totem to protect and the risk of playing with 3 Perks, instead of just using 4 Perks instead without any Hex.

Also, Totem Spots are improving over time, especially the old Maps have some really poor Totem Spots, but newer Maps or reworked Maps got some more than decent Spots. And I think there should be a mix of both, not really stuff like the Totem Spot right in the Open on Disturbed Ward, but Totems which are easier to find and those who are harder to find.

However, I agree on the fact that the Killer should know which Totem is which. I really dont know why it was never implemented that there are different Colors for each Hex a Killer is using.

Im new to playing this game but the hex system feels weird for me too. I hate the thought of my perks being destroyed because someone is cleansing a totem. I know you can just defend them but sometimes you just gotta defend dem gens over your totems feelsbadman

The majority of the community just flat out ignores and does not use Hexes because they are too wildly inconsistent and not very useful most of the time. So if a risk/reward system doesn't have much reward but all the risk why should anyone use it? We currently don't. It needs to be changed to be a viable option to use Hexes, instead of a minute-at-best-hex like we have now.

I think it would be a good idea to rework the hex system, or the totem system.

    I see two options :

First, totems should be more hidden.

Second, make the totems real hex, a kind of malediction, the entity grown on a totem, it's easy to clean in early game, but till the game continue, the entity grown and its more difficult to clean the totem BUT you can see the hex more easier due to the entity growing on the totem.
