If there was a minimum playtime requirement for red ranks

As everyone knows there's an incredible number of new players on red ranks (BOTH SIDES) that are quite simply not ready for red ranks based on their decision making throughout the match and actual gameplay skill. Hell, some people seem to think I can't see them with BBQ if they crouch in a corner when I hook someone.

So let's say there was a minimum playtime requirement (in total hours played) - where would you set said requirement for red ranks?

Just to make things clear I don't actually WANT a minimum playtime requirement - I'm just interested in opinions.

500 total with at least 200 in the desired role (killer or survivor).

Around 500 hours. Maybe a bit more for the killer side, because survivors are just skins.

That's enough to unlock the useful stuff and have a good understanding of how the game works.

But you have to play both sides. It's fine if you are a red rank survivor after 500 hours but only at green ranks as killer. A lot of problems in this game can be reduced to "I made a mistake and the other side took advantage of it", if people would just play both roles.

And if you get to red ranks as solo. Here have my applause.

It's funny if you look at the skill level at high ranks. I see people running straight lines against my nurse or survivors hiding in lockers during feral frenzy as legion. After these kind of games I check the profiles and see sometimes "300 hours playtime" and most of the achievements are survivors. Usually they are in SWF, too.

You even see killers who will chase you for 3 Gens and then accuse you of genrushing instead of changing the target.

The ruin "rework" sorted out a lot of bad killers in red ranks. I'm interested to see if the loop "rework" will do the same to survivors.

Playtime doesnt equal in-match time. That's Devotion Level. And Devotion Level doesn't equal skill level. I'm not saying I should be at red ranks, but I play with a lot of familiar faces with 1-2k hours that absolutely suck.

That's correct to some degree - however people with thousands of hours are obviously more likely to perform like red ranks than a new player who got forced into red ranks due to how rank reset and pipping works at this moment.

But not by much. Barring a certain rank til you have a certain number of in-match playtime hours still means that terrible people will be getting through just by playing the damn game. But now, you have good people that picked up the game quick (I'm not one of these) bullying the shite out of other new people.

And what's this about okay kg like red ranks? Are you using the term to mean genuinely good players, or do you mean the insane symphony of good and bad players that we currently have but that are still slightly better than the average yellow rank?
