Does Bloodwarden get the same hate as NOED?
Turned a 1K into a 3K thanks to bloodwarden and green mori. I was oni and I was against Meg, Tapp, Jane and Ace.
Meg was weakest of team. I put her in the basement. I knew the others were around so I patroled the area before leaving to check gens. No one came to save until the struggle phase.
Caught Tapp trying to save Meg and grabbed him.
Jane saved Meg and Tapp. She got me with a couple head ons but I eventually downed her.
Ace knew how to loop so I gave up and left him.
Last gen pops I down the meg and injure tapp who rushed in to rescue. I chased him to the exit to gate where the others were gathered forcing them to open it. I turn back and hook the meg trapping them in. I charge in with blood fury and down jane and mori her. I finally caught Ace hiding round the corner outside the exit. Ace gives up so I head to the hatch where I found Tapp with a key and he opens it before Ace died.
No surprise they weren't happy about that. I understand the mori but bloodwarden? Meg was dead. All they had to do was take three steps forward to end the match.

Blood Warden is amazing.
I have a lot more respect for a killer who uses Blood Warden than NOED.
It's a lot more respectable, I'll tell you that. It needs the killer to hook a survivor WHILE the gates are opened as opposed to NOED that just activates while the killer is eating a burrito.

Considering I never see posts here about it, I would guess no. Especially since a lot of ppl run BW and NOED together, leaving NOED to overshadow any hate for BW. LoL

The difference is that you can sensibly play around Blood Warden.
Exit blocked because the Killer hooked someone? Move away from the exit and wait (possibly look to save the hooked player), or say your prayers and contemplate why you didn’t leave sooner (tea-bagging should not be the answer).
Blood Warden gives ample opportunity to play around without a ‘Surprise! You’re down!’ mechanic.

bloodwarden is one of those few things left in the game that brings some joy and surprise and panic.

Saving someone while Blood Warden is active will potentially get your entire team sacrificed because you removed the EGC speed penalty of someone being hooked.
If you're still lost, here's an example! 🙂
There's 40% remaining in the EGC and the killer hooks a survivor with Blood Warden.
Okay, that's good game, 40% of the EGC is 48 seconds and we all know Blood Warden lasts 60 seconds.
Just kidding, it's not over because the hooked survivor causes the EGC to expire at 50% the normal speed. Therefore, if there's 48 seconds remaining in the EGC and the EGC has a speed penalty — you actually have 96 seconds remaining in the EGC for as long as the speed penalty persists. You can escape if you don't save the hooked survivor because they slow the EGC enough to outlast Blood Warden and if you're lucky, you might be able to save them too if time things correctly!

Good math, and that adds onto my point of how much opportunity the perk gives you to play around.

Yeah I'm trying not to fall into that trap of relying on it too much. I just got the perk recently from the shrine since I don't have Freddy. It doesn't always work but when it does it's hilarious.

Can't disagree with that. I had a ghostface use it on me. It was one of the most fun matches I've had in a long time.

I really appreciate it! 😊
Whenever I use Blood Warden, I keep in mind of the speed penalty so I can precisely time when I should hook a survivor.
Just because I'm a huge nerd... I sacrificed this Laurie at the 35% mark of the EGC because I kept in mind that the EGC will have a temporary speed penalty as the Entity sacrifices her. Factoring the speed difference of Blood Warden and the EGC is crucial if you want to get sacrifices. Just look at how much of my Blood Warden was wasted because the EGC speed penalty! 😅

Anyone who stays in the gate to teabag deserves anything coming to them. Noed, tombstone myers mori, blood warden, whatever. You had a chance to leave and you would rather stay to rub your victory in. And then they complain? XD

The difference between NoED and Blood Warden is that one both has an activation requirement and has actual counterplay.
If I ever see a Blood Warden
It's different to NoED robbing me from a well deserved escape, especially when I have done 2-4 bones and the other idiots on my team have literally just gotten me killed because of their general incompetence and the killer can't actually win a chase.
