I believe they should bring back the old rank reset
I think the current rank reset along with dedicated servers are the reason for the matchmaking issues. As it increases the amount of the player base that are in red ranks.
Whilst I know some people didn't like having to spend time getting back to rank 1 each season, but it didn't take that long to get back to rank 1 from rank 10. I much prefer the chore of getting back to rank 1. Then for the rest of the season I was having better matches, as I was playing against red rank killers, whilst my random team mates were somewhat competent.
Now the majority of my matches are against inexperienced killers. Since the current rank reset was introduced there are an increase amount boosted players who don't belong in red ranks. Red rank survivors that still use self care and urban evade on the edge of the map. To red rank killers that you can loop around a single pallet for 5 gens, because they refuse to break the pallet.
I use to be able to avoid playing with and against boosted players by not playing DBD during the last week of the season. However, with the current rank reset, those players just remain at those ranks for the entire season.
Whilst rank doesn't really matter as there are no rewards, it isn't an indication of skill. It was useful for separating the players that wanted to play competitively and those who just play for fun. The reason I bothered getting to red ranks was to have challenging games.
Ever since the current rank reset was introduced my enjoyment of the game has been on the decline ever since.

Yeah new rank reset makes red ranks more diluted and skews queue times

I agree. With each rank reset I've noticed that red rank players have slowly become worse. I get teammates or as killer get survivors that do things that people who have been playing for a few weeks to months do.
Without a proper reset the ranks become swelled by people who safety every game. This creates extremely boring matches.

I totally agree. I understand why the devs wanted to try changing rank reset, as there were complaints to make about the old system as well, but I think it was the better solution despite its flaws.

Agreed 100%. Yes rank 1 wasn't entirely an indication of skill but it did separate the players that were dedicated enough to put in the amount of games required to climb and play more competitive matches unlike the people that just played casually. Now you get players that have no business being anywhere near red ranks let alone even purple ranks. The ranking system isn't great but the old rank reset fixed the issues with "bad" players reaching red ranks easily.

It's not going to matter. The devs are developing a new matchmaking system that won't be reliant on rank.

Yeah, of course. I wish it was back so badly, it ######### the Matchmaking and also lowers the quality of High Rank Games. Before you would know "A, Rank Reset is in a few days" when players who did not belong there made it to Red Ranks. Now you have this situation all the time.
And I still think that the reasoning given is simply stupid. They said it is because players who cannot play that much would not be able to achieve something other players, who play more, will get. Which is... logical? Thats the way it is in every Onlinegame.

I miss it too. I used to love when the 13th came around and everyone got reduced back to the same general groups of ranks. The good players moved up quickly and the not-so-good ones stayed where they were at. Now, once you make it to red ranks, you are automatically reset to rank 5 and doesnt require that much effort to get back to red ranks again.

Also if you were good enough for red ranks it didn't take long to get from rank 10 to rank 1. For me I use to work long shifts so I only could play a handful of games each month, and I always get to rank 1 from rank 10 each season.
Another benefit is if you return from a break you use to be able to play against more inexperienced players whilst you shake the rustiness off. I personally took a few months break, I was trying to adjust to the new maps, sensitivity, and killer at rank 5. Playing against an optimal a red rank SWF whilst trying to adjust to a new sensitivity wasn't fun.
TBH, I have no idea how an MMR system would work in Dead by Daylight.
If a killer decides to chase me for five gens and then downs me with NOED, does that make a worser survivor then the three survivors who escaped who had no interaction with the killer?
Or on the flip side, if I a 4k game by using an ebony Mori, with iridescent hatchets plus infantry belt does that me a good killer?
There's so many variables of an outcome of a game, that has no relation to skill. Pallet spawn RNG, a DC, glitches, etc.
