Personally, survivors but on the forums it's both sides.
I've only once had a killer message me, which was when Demo only came out, while when I play killer, I get a message about every week or two.
In game there are many toxic killers however, and don't get me wrong there are toxic killers who will go out if their way to message you, but I don't see it often.

I know I see more Survivor toxicity whenever I play the game, but like @CheersTC said, it's both sides.
Both sides tend to not care how the other side plays and prefers to effectively ruin their experience playing the game if it means their own personal experience is a lot better as a result.

I know this might sound like a stretch, but I'm gonna have to go with the toxic people.

Both sides have their share of toxicity.

I'd say it's pretty equal between survivors and killers. Though I play on Switch, so we don't get post-game messages. I'd say I get way more friend requests though as killer from survivors, than I do from killers as a survivor.

That could just be because there are 4 times as many survivors than killers in a trial. If 25% of each population is toxic, you would on average see a toxic survivor every game and on average see a toxic killer every 4 games. Ratios are fun.

This is the second day I've been back to DbD and all the toxic comments I've seen so far came from survivors. Killers were usually just upset about the matchmaking.

Survivor complains: t0XiC
Killer complains: Understandable
No bias present here folks, keep scrolling

There were no complaints from survivors, just insults toward killers who performed poorly and were quite obviously outmatched. That's why I said "comments" and not "complaints".
PS: I played exactly one trial as killer these past two days. The rest were as survivor in a duo SWF.

Both sides have their toxic people I guess. Although it's been reduced since when I joined.

In game behavior is the appetizer, but the end game chat is the main course.
