A discussion about a possible new form of 1vs1
I started playing this game in late January 2019 and it has quickly become 1 of my favorite games. I love the thrill of trying to escape a mad Killer trying to murder me. I much more prefer to play Survivor than Killer. My absolute favorite moments were when I had to face the Killer alone, when all the odds are against me, I absolutely loved these moment. This is also what I would like to discuss here. The introduction of The Endgame Collapse removed 2 aspects that were wrong with the old 1vs1:
· The Survivor that did not want to even try to take on the Killer had the ability of holding the game hostage instead of accepting death.
· The Survivor and the Killer could just have a stand-off on the Hatch if neither wanted to accept defeat (even though I wouldn’t consider a 3 man a defeat).
The Endgame Collapse thankfully removed both of these. But it removed also 1 other thing: The chance for the last Survivor to fight the Killer alone. This was replaced with 2 minute countdown to escape the Killer rather than fight him. This has removed my favorite moments in the game. And I understand that The Endgame Collapse was put in place to remove those 2 things I just said and to get the game over with, The Endgame Collapse works and I know that. I am currently writing an idea that could be put into place that would allow for the last Survivor to take on the Killer alone without allowing the Survivor to hold the game hostage at of course the expense of the game taking a bit longer.
In the image above you see 4 instances that reminded me of how badly I missed those moments. It probably does not come as a surprise that the Perk Left Behind was my favorite Perk and because I almost always ran it I had a slightly bigger chance. I know that the chance of you escaping were still next to 0, but I also believe that is how it should be. Right now it is not much different, if the Exit Gates are only slightly close to each other you are still completely at the Killer’s mercy.
I have also a small problem with the current Left Behind perk, even though with The Endgame Collapse it is currently a pretty decent Perk. It simply doesn’t fit Bill Overbeck very well, right now it is a perk to escape the Killer rather than fight him. The quote that goes with Left Behind sounds like: "I'm not horse-shittin' around. I'm doing this alone!". That just doesn’t really fit, Bill is a character that would fight the Killer and not run from it.
And because this creates a new (or old) situation, this would also allow for new Perks. For these situation there are no Perks, I would like to see Left Behind changes back again. The current Left Behind could still be a Perk of its own, or maybe Left Behind could have both effects: the repair speed and the aura reading.
It would also slightly increase the chance of completing the Left For Dead achievement, even though not everyone plays for achievements I know that (fun fact: Left For Dead is the first achievement I ever got together with Survival Treasures).
I do believe that with this opinion I am in the minority, but I do want to ask: I said that I was writing down ideas that would allow for these moments again without allowing the last Survivor to take the game hostage, and I don’t think it would be that hard to implement. But before I post that I would like to ask some of you think about this. What are your thought on this? Do you think that having a new form of 1vs1 put into place is completely unnecessary because the majority of player probably don’t really care about this? Do you think it's fine? In case a developer reads this: do you have any plans already for something like this? Are you open for that? And if not why not? I don't really feel like posting my idea if for whatever reason the possibility is completely off the table.
Here's the link to my idea: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/151532/new-form-of-1vs1/p1?new=1

This is an awful lot of reading to ask "Can I share my idea?"

You're right, I didn't realize that. I have added the link to the actual idea I had.
