Tome 3 tier progression friendly discussion
Hi people of the fog,
Its now around 2 days until level 2 comes out for tome 3, so i wanted to to have a discussion about how far everyones got and any tips for getting through the rift, just incase anyone who isnt making it through easy can have more of a chance or just give eachother some advice in general.
At the moment my tier is 18.3 (just had a 3 day break)
I think the best thing to do in the rift is to play killer and survivor side by side,i normally play in the sequence of S,K,S,K,K,S... as i find this method to help me not reach burnout as fast.
(P.s. make sure your playing atleast 1 match of killer and survivor as each day you get bonus xp which i think is around 1200 xp if your doing both a killer and survivor match ^^)

I'm at level 10 with a few challenges left but I'm done with exams now so I'll be able to play more.
I also do the killer and survivor challenges side by side as last tome I completed all killer challenges before the survivor ones, which turned it into a slough. I wish you could choose a survivor and killer challenge at the same time so you wouldn't have to keep switching.
Also it's 600xp for both the daily survivor and killer matches, not 1200.

Yea the switching does get annoying everytime but i got used to going to my rift after everymatch so i could sort it out straight after
I also ment 1200 combined 😅

Hitting level 20 soon.
Basically what you said, do a match for both sides every day (+300 is the first match bonus for each side, so +600 free exp, even if the match is short.)
If you play solo and it's possible, tell your team that you are doing a challenge.
It's fine if you can't complete a challenge in one round.
Take items/perks with you, that will help you with the challenge. Unhook challenge? Borrowed time. Totem challenge? Small Game, Detectives Hunch or a Map with the addon that reveals the killer belonging.
Basement Challenge? Agitation+Iron Grasp, or/and a strong map offering.

I just play whatever I want and then chose which of the available challenges for that role is my favourite or unlocks the most choices.
I didn't have any problems with the challenges, and didn't even have to farm. Most of them can be done in one match. Due to corona I had some more time and really played a lot, but also had some internet issues not being able to play some days in the first week. But combined, I played 3 days in the first week to finish the first level. Let it be maybe 8 hours a day, and I finished all challenges during last weekend.
What I can precisely say about level 1: I saved the challenges for the next chapter, which will be released during tome 3 I think, so I get more BP for levelling the new characters. But if I collected all rewards, I would have been tier 15 after the match that got me the last challenge done. So one tier ahead, regarding the "1 tier per day" average to get the rift done. So level 1 is perfectly balanced in that point, regarding required playtime and challenge progression. And I think the roughly (but guessed) 24 hours I played to get to that point would also perfectly fit into the "2 hours per day" requirement (I know, they said 1 hour per day, but that is pure playtime, make it 2 hours to account for queue times, equipping and BP spending)
Not sure about level 2 though. From what I saw (but that is leaked content so don't wanna discuss here) level 2 might be more grindy and more of a problem to finish in two weeks, when you play 2 hours per day, but let's see about that.
And if anyone has problems with any challenge, sure go ahead and ask.

I wish the survivor queue's weren't so long. I usually do the same. Behavior is also extremely good at getting me to spend money, which I almost never do for online games. I get halfway or so through a tier, realize its going to take me forever to do a challenge (or it's beyond my skill level) and BOOM I'm buying a character I didn't have because I'm thinking their challenge might be easier.
I did almost every node of the first two Tomes (and only got to around tier 50 on the rift both times) and I got stuck on the first level here. How do you go from "disturb 50 crows" to "hook 3 people in the basement"? Dude I'm a green/purple rank at best, going against rank 1s. I'm lucky if I get one hook a match sometimes, let alone being near the basement. Sometimes I can't even find it,I won't lie. And the struggle bar seems to go way faster then I remember...
So I decide to do the 3 vaults while chased with Kate (yeah $8 to do one challenge, lol). Got it first try. Luckily I haven't played survivor in months and got a rank 20 Myers that apparently didn't know you could break pallets :) Was a nice idea to start a thread for help and thoughts. I don't get anywhere near as frustrated playing survivor as I do killer.
