Disconnecting
Why not just remove the DC button if you dont want people to DC?

then they will close the game like mobile🤷♀️

and what about people that dc because their internet is bad?

Then you can just kill the game instead...same effect. Or as far as that goes just turn off the machine, pull out the ethernet cable, etc etc.

Maybe have them fix the buggy game before they go down that road. I don't know about you but I see a dc maybe at most once a day including my own. If people dc often the penalties get longer. Nothing wrong with keeping it at 5 minutes for people who dc only once in a blue moon. Want longer times because the buggy game kicked them...welcome to Uninstall by Daylight.

Get better internet or don't play or face the DC penalty.

Don't know if you are allowed to say or not, but is that husk of disconnected survivors feature still coming to the game?

PS4 - ‘Close application’
Xbox - Would have similar to PS4?
Pc - ‘Open task manger & End Task’
Removing the ability to dc would be pointless

Sometimes there are legitimate reasons for DCing. If I get a call saying, for example, that a close friend needs a ride to the hospital, I'm DCing and driving him to the hospital. Screw everyone else, it's just a game.

Oh, trust me, I know. Sometimes it's fun to pretend that's not the case, though.

And what about the buggy game just crashing 100% unrelated to your connection? I suppose we can stop playing until they fix all the bugs...when do you expect that to be exactly?

I would agree with you but I've disconnected twice since I started playing a year ago. First time was because of an infinite loading screen, the second one was because I was stuck on top of a pallet as Legion. Both if these were last week and I got hit with the 5 minute wait.
Until the game is more stable we need to keep the penalty somewhat low.

When Xbox didn't have the god awful dedicated servers I'd see maybe 1 dc a day...I still see about 1 dc a day. Those penalties sure did do a trick on those for sure.

Whatever Felicia.

when i play killer i get the immature 'first down dc' usually. the first guy ragequits and people still ragequit when getting moried. it's still the same for me.

I got my first penalty this weekend. Match ended and said disconnected from server. Everyone got bloodpoints but the killer.
Looked through the store, spent some blood points and was back in after my short timeout.
Hope that doesn't happen much more. I've only dc'd once and it was due to running halfway down haddonfield road and rubber banding back to the beginning. Multiple times. That was a year ago.

The counter argument Felicia is the game isn't actually stable as much as you'd like to think otherwise.

Play killer more, you see dcs all the time. Puts you in a weird spot cause you have to decide if you want to punish the other 3 or let them farm

Funny...there is usually some killer in my game and I don't really see anyone DC. I might dc maybe once a week. In the last week I've seen two dcs--one of which was my own. Of the rare times I ever play killer I literally never see anyone dc. And that is usually for some odd reason someone dc'ing at the very moment they die on the hook for some odd reason.
If some....uh....guy...slugs all four of you how is dc'ing hurting anyone? I personally...I don't care about four other people...only the other three...the killer...couldn't careless about that one. Obviously not going to dc to hurt the other survivors at any point.

Hex cleansed too soon? DC
Pallet stunned too many times? DC
Blinded by a flashlight? DC
Gens going too fast? DC
Survivors about to go through the exit? DC
Map the killer doesn't like? DC
Hit by DS? DC
Exit gates powered? DC
Borrowed Time worked? DC
Every single one of those has happened to me multiple times. These days very rarely. But let's not pretend killers are innocent.

Waiting five minutes is not going to kill you.
If it's more than five minutes it's not the game being buggy, it's your game setup, and other people should not be subjected to you entering matches until you fix it.

Nothing's going to stop people from rage quitting. If you made dc penalties an hour long to start, people would still dc because they're doing so because they no longer want to play. All increasing the penalty to start would do is make people give up in frustration with longer queue times and harsher punishments for the game's errors. I agree punishments should ramp up quickly though, but should start with a warning and then 10 minutes so it's a bit less frustrating for people who aren't rage quitters just encountering bugs and crashes.

I did. You told him that he's the reason, and I'm telling you, you and the other people that feel like you can quit the game whenever are the reason anybody quits. Because you can't handle your own frustrations.
So you go see what I've already said.

I sincerely believe that to a new player, a game that's not even supposed to be, or even trying to be competitive. A penalty for leaving 1 or 2 single matches will turn people away and request a refund.

Killer is also denying survivors of any potential BP gain. You can't just look at 1 side of this.

You shouldn't play the game if you have bad internet... You're literally ruining the match for 4 other people because your crap McDonald's Wi-Fi. Even when I had bad internet I showed respect by playing majority my games offline instead of ruining the game for everyone else and being selfish!!

BHVR will see that DCing whilst reduced at first is slowly reoccurring as players find acceptable ways for them to dc.
Increase bans to fix this as this game is stable and my internet is not a problem.
Behaviour DC penalties have made this game more enjoyable, thank you.

Yeah no I don't want to crash then be unable to join for an hour or something

Nothing. But how about remove the option to leave the game if you don't want them to in the first place? Seems like that should line up with DC penalties.

I definitely think the ability to DC should be a thing and dislike the ban penalty, since none of the issues that were the root cause of DCs were addressed before it was implemented. I have simply replaced it with hook suicide unless the match is egregious and the Killer won't kill me, then I'm happy to DC and play something else. I paid to play this game to have fun. I have a finite amount of time to play video games after a long day of adulting. I dont feel the least bit obligated to stay in a match and play a game with someone who is obviously intentionally trying to make the game unfun for others. I don't play with people like that, period. If that means I eat a ban penalty every once in a while, so be it.

Lol I wish people could see beyond hop 3 lol

Ahh yes, let's punish people who get hit by bugs and glitches even worse! What a fantastic idea.
If it's bothering you that much, maybe go play a different game?

The option is there to facilitate leaving the game under circumstances where it's appropriate, such as if the player has a real-life emergency to attend to, or if they are stuck in a gamebreaking bug and can't leave the match by other means.

Actually, having a disconnect button officially coded into the game gives the appearance that disconnecting is OK to do. Especially with no text there warning about DC penalties. That is why i will always advocate for the removal of that button. Yes people can still close the game to DC.
In an emergency are people really going to take the time to open the menu and click in disconnect then shut the game down and then shut the machine off before leaving?
I mean, you give people an option to disconnect then penalize them for using it. Yet PC players can adjust files in the coding (that don't give any advantages) and it's ok. It makes no sense.
