Can Something be Done About This?
I told support about this awhile ago, and they said there's nothing they can do.
I keep getting the glitch where the survivor is stuck on the hook, and I'm forced to D/C. Then, I get a longer-and-longer DC ban because the game is just frequently breaking.
I'd like if this bug got more attention, because it's been in the game for nearly a year now and I have no way to NOT DC. Does this just happen to me? Because, from what I know, a lot of other people have been experiencing it.

Top 5 reasons why implementing DC penalties in the game's current state wasn't the greatest idea
Experienced that bug several times myself. Real fun.

I've gotten 5 games like this these past 2 days, and next time I DC I get a half-hour ban. Even if the survivor DCs, I can't do anything. How is getting a DC ban like this acceptable, when this glitch has been in the game for so long?

That bug sucks, I was playing with my brother and he got that bug as well, I really don't like the DC penalty system and hopefully the devs will either shorten the ban or completely remove them, I rarely dc but since the game got the DC penalty I've been dc'ing by the game itself, crashes etc

I agree, but I wish there was a way for the match to notice something was wrong and halt the game. Sort of like what they did with not enough people joining, if an error occurs that stops the survivor from entering the hook phase it should boot everyone out of the game instead of soft-locking it AT THE VERY LEAST. This has been around for far too long, and I've made support tickets about it dating back 5 months ago with the only response being that they've sent it to the team.

The game probably should have some kind of timer at the 30 minute mark (maybe 20?) Where the game just ends

Ironically, that's shorter than the DC bans that I'm racking up.
Lemme just bump this, because I'm once again facing hour bans because I CANNOT PLAY THE GAME. I contact support, and they give me the same cookie-cutter response they did half a year ago so I'm forced to spread awareness through the forums.

There's a bug report section, you should take this there

There's already a ton of bug report threads on it, but no solution as to what people are supposed to do if you get banned like I am for this bug.

Never experienced that bug, myself. It sucks that some people have that issue, but intentional DC's have been abused far too much for them to let it go on unchecked. Hope they fix that bug for you, soon.

Maybe they should fix bugs like these before implementing DC penalties. Much rather people get away with DCing than innocent players having to pay the price of poor programming.

This bug has been around since at least October. I have yet to find the cause but it seems it has become more frequent recently.
Edit: can to specify what killer and what actions where you doing as the hooking sequence began? I had seen it happen with the clown, but personally I had it happen to me quite a bit as the nurse and pig. any specific map it appears on more often?

The guys ability to experience the game is completely being ruined. This is far more than an annoyance and he should not be blown off.

I main Nurse, I use no add ons so they can't be a problem. It happens with other killers aswell, but I just prefer nurse. I simply pick someone up, put them on the hook, and there seems to be like a 50/50 chance the game soft-locks and forces me to DC. When the survivor gets stuck like this I can't blink OR do ANY other actions, so I'm completely gimped.

Thanks.

Also, I can prove that it has been around since AT LEAST November, as I took screenshots and SENT IT TO THE SUPPORT TEAM. IN NOVEMBER. However, I'm very sure it's been happening since before that.

@RockoRango I think it may be tied to secondary powers. usually when you play the nurse like me, you M2 to start charging up the blink as soon as the hook is finished. same thing with the clown reloading. I don't know if this is because of dedicated servers not being able to verify that the survivor have connected to hook or some other internal issue. It would be nice to test on a KYF though.
