Major issues when facing Deathslinger (Bug?)+(Balance)
Every single deathslinger I've faced has has little to no terror radius (rarely using any perks to reduce the terror radius, I check) I can quietly hear the sound when the killer is 16-10m away, and it only becomes more noticable at 8m (or a little bit larger than the size of the killer shack). The music that plays when on the edge of the terror radius should be made louder. There are two other points that need to be looked at:
-When resisting the chain, I slide off objects like butter, and
if the object I'm behind isn't a slat box I slide off it like I've been greased up. There's a very fine line of balance between "Duct taping myself to a tree and not going anywhere" and "Trying to grabbing onto something anything is like trying to grip a pile of gelatin", and right now we're a lot closer to the second option.
-Aiming should disable auras.
Aiming with deathslinger isn't hard, so it sounds obvious that all auras should be disabled when aiming. With how forgiving the survivor hitbox is, the killer doesn't need a wallhack aura too.

Glad to know I'm not the only one

Deathslinger can get down to an 8m terror radius with monitor and a purple add-on.
Is it a problem? I don't think so. Not when there is monitor myers, ghostface, and wraith running around. He is dangerous up close (like every killer), but you can keep your distance with spine chill. Same as every other killer in the game.

You see the problem is, survivor can run away from myers/ ghostface/ wraith. Deathslinger's only counter is stealth, some select few loops with high + solid walls (so not killer shack), and putting objects between him and you (not including thin, low walls, or any wall with a vault near it, also not including most small map objects like rocks and crates) at a distance where it takes at least some skill to hit your target. Now take that and consider the nearly non-existent terror radius, the quiet/ subtle ambiance music the devs chose to use, and neutral color pallet, he can easily sneak up on you without detection and attack you at a max range of 18 meters
So yes, it's a huge problem. The only limit to this killer is whether or not the survivor can rush gens, and if the killer has basic aim.

Are you saying sprinting is disabled when you're facing the Deathslinger? Just keep your eyes open, man. Dodge those shots like you would hatchets.

try that on the yamoka maps. or The Game. He blends in too well.

It just sounds like you haven’t adapted to the newest killer yet, thus bringing you here.

So he requires a different playstyle and more alertness. What's the harm in that? Do you want every killer to require the exact same strategy every single time? That's boring.

To be fair. Dodging a killer who can Quickscope is harder than Huntress, who has a clear windup and a short charge time for her shots. On the other hand his Hitbox is quite smaller, that gives you a little bit of an advantage back, but that is out of your control. I personally think LoS blocker only truely help against him. It just happens quite often, that you are suddenly hit by him, when trying to handle him like Huntress.

I play ghostface and myers in a very different way than deathslinger. Both of them I use chasing perks on, myers eventually becomes completely unloopable (PWYF 3), and ghostface I use spirit fury. They are almost equally as uncounterable as deathslinger at loops.
So the difference is, you get caught by ghostface or myers and just get 1 shot at the gen you are working on, and there is no looping. Deathslinger you get hit at the gen after being ambushed, and then harpooned at a loop. I do feel like the down by deathslinger would feel worse, but the ghostface and myers instadown is more efficient. Both come with no warning unless you are running spine chill or premonition.

sounds like you're trolling to dismiss a legit concern about a bug another user is also experiencing. Maybe don't do that.
2 -
I'm perfectly aware, but there's a reason the terror radius exists. If myers/ ghostface were nearly invisible (didn't have high contract faces) you would be complaining too

This thread isn't about the chasing itself, it's about a bug/ design flaw where he can sneak up on you too easily and never give you a chance to run away.

Quickscope plays a big role in sneaking up as well. He only needs to come around a corner quickscope shoot to hit you. So even if you are aware of your surroundings it might be not possible/you are in a bad position and I was referencing the fact that you can't dodge his spear like Huntress hatchets.

The terror radius really should be looked at. He’s like monitor Myers with a rifle. Other than that he’s fine. Even needs some buffs to be honest.

His terror radius is definitely one of the wonkiest things I've seen in this game. It's like a M&A Huntress, except she doesn't have her humming, and her wind-up only takes 0,125 seconds, which gives the survivor as much counterplay and interactive chases as any Spirit with at least two working brain cells.

The Deathslinger has a fair amount of control over how he reels you in and it's not just a straight line. Often when you slide off something it's because the Deathslinger is guiding you off of it.
When you enter his TR there is a familiar sound cue that plays, if your too used to hearing the generic TR and can't be bothered to learn a new TR that's on you. A little secret is that the devs want custom TR/chase for every killer so if your annoyed now you are gonna hate DbD later.
Turn off aura while aiming is a useless "fix" as quick scoping makes it useless and the only aura perk that a 18m shot range reliably works with is Nurse's Calling, which they stand still during. Find the aura out of scope, aim at where the aura was and boom you got em.
This entire thread makes it seem like your salty a Deathslinger nailed you while you were busy not paying attention and then you lost after he shot you mid heal.
