Explanations

So my previous post about why Alien in my opinion is most likely the new killer has been met with some objections, I think I should elaborate my views more.

For starters I am not saying Pennywise definitely isn't it, but he kind of falls short in at least 1 category that being influence.

2 candyman is stated by a YouTuber who is close to and loved by the Devs to not be coming to the game in chapter 16.

3 the only reason the Jason Voorhees boardgame is not being affected by the legal rights is because it already has been in development prior to the issues along with the creators having permission from 1 or both of the license owners.

4 the 4th anniversary theme of black and gold has no direct value to who the killer is, similarly to chapter 3 it's just a scheme the devs liked.

5 the skull oozing black goo is actually a direct reference to their updated logo which as I see it represents change, the gold is likely nothing but something that they liked.

6 the Alien franchise has marked both the horror genre and sci-fi category since it's inception and is met with high expectations and emotions.

7 balance would be an issue for bringing alien in but it could be done, it doesn't have to crawl on absolutely everything it just needs to get to where survivors are and would only likely be able to go into certain vents using them like Demogorgon portals and maybe crawl into 2nd and 3rd story windows which would be decently balanced for it.

8 it's been hinted at that we could be getting 2 licenses in this chapter.

9 I do follow Paulie Esther and even he admits that it could potentially be the xenomorph coming to DbD Chapter 16.

10 technically all licensed killers in game currently are very much not as strong as their film versions and are often shown to be quite weak.

11 pennywise on it's own is as powerful if not more so than The Entity and would very much clash with what lore the game has.

12 alien is a classic license and has been far more influential than IT, Jason, Candyman, or Pyramid Head and is looked upon by some as the micky mouse of horror.

13 the only reason I don't think that Alien's themes clash with DbD is because of the fact that The Entity recreates familiar areas in it's own cosmic realm that it rules over and thus it could recreate locations anywhere from Alien.

14 predator makes no sense because he already just got his own game.

15 my final point for now is for those pushing the 4th anniversary poster as relevant, in this case the Alien has a human-like skull under the dome, it originates from a black goo, the gold is representing the royalty and status of the license and the 4 is kind of futuristic and sharp which could reflect the Alien's sharp claws and tail.

For all we kniw we could get the queen. Shes a bit slower i think. She could even drop eggs like trapper or hag and have survivors struggle getting the face huggers off.

As for climbing? Well maybe she would be able to climb over the small loops. On a timer or cool down.

Acid blood wouldn't come into play unless maybe if she's stunned the survivor suffers from deep wounds.

Just thoughts off the top of my head

Out of curiosity, what makes you think Scott is "close to and loved by the devs"? I like the guy, but he's not a Fog Whisperer or anything - unless there are multiple YouTubers who have claimed the next chapter isn't Candyman and I've managed to miss the others.

I just think people are putting to much stock in what Scott said. If he hadnt said that everyone would be convinced its candyman.

Because Scott said he got the last 3-4 killer names before the release/PTB. He seems to know someone. He could just be lying, but why would he do that? I believe him.

Most of her bulk was when she was attached to the egg thing. Once she ripped free, she wasnt that much bigger.

Plus, clown was a normal guy and he towers over survivors. It seems size doesn't matter.....in this game anyway

I believe Scott hinted in a stream that he's been invited to the behaviour headquarters and how he knew what the Deathslinger's name was 5 months ago.

He said that second part, but it didn't come across like he was implying he'd been told, or that he'd been invited to headquarters. The only time he mentioned headquarters, as I recall, was saying that the only special treatment Fog Whisperers get is that some of them get invited to headquarters (which he presumably knows because his fiancee is a Fog Whisperer, not because he's one himself).

Not that what he said couldn't be true, I just think if we're going to make evidence-based guesses we should make sure that evidence is accurate.

I don't think he's lying either, I just wanted to know why OP used that particular phrasing because it seemed odd. I don't know how he knows, but it didn't come across to me like he knew someone, given that he was also talking about how even the Fog Whisperers don't get advance information like that, and he said that he could be wrong which made it sound like he had guessed or found something for himself. But even if he did know someone, to me that doesn't translate to being "close to and loved by" the devs in general - that description seems more fitting for someone like Cahla, for example. Again though, not saying anyone here is wrong, just curious about the premises behind OP's argument.

There Are a few good DbD YouTubers who are very much thinking Alien is definitely our new killer.

It's the only one that truly makes any sense when you dig deeper and think about it.

I don't know what the guy who knew about the previous 5 killers knows but when I asked him if it was Alien he never answered at all.

I got attacked by his followers because I will admit I am pushy but his silence without giving any hints really says something.

I'm more convinced that we're getting the xenomorph, more than I've ever been before.

I'm hoping I'm right because it will mean that Alien will finally have some decent representation for once and will draw attention to DbD.

I pretty sure that the new killer would be chromeskull from laid to rest.
