Honestly, I had to make a banlist for the teammates I get at red ranks, that's just how bad it can be as a solo player. Do you have any idea how many times I've had a SWF group sandbag me and #########? So I have no grudge against killers being able to see survivor names for countless reasons, because if I couldn't see my teammates names I'd be upset I get stuck with several really bad apples.

I have never had the problem you're talking about but maybe it's because I play on PC, because I've played for 3 years and never have I had someone specifically go out of their way to target me, mori me, camp me, or do anything like that, and I've never done it myself. And if they did, okay? I'll move onto the next game, I don't care. If a killer brings a hidden mori offering or I get off a hook after they camp/attempt to tunnel me, I can guarantee loop them for more than enough time for my whole team to get every gen if I wanna sweat

My guess is tunneling and camping and such are far more common on console.

Man, it's never enough with you people.

First you have issue with killers seeing your rank which got it removed.

Then you have issues other survivors seeing your rank which got it removed.

Now you want to remove hotlinked names so you can what? Be toxic more and not be held accountable for your behavior?

It needs to stay so people can file reports via steam if needed, see valubale information, send req/block, etc.

Instead of asking devs to remove a feature they cannot, why not just be mature and deal with it.

Honestly as a killer main id like to see usernames go as well. If theyre gone its less likely that i dodge bc of known toxic people in past games. Id like to just go in blind sometimes.

I like seeing Survivor names for the same reason. So I know if I need to dodge a toxic lobby that's gonna annoy me all game then flame in the post game chat. It also gives a clue if they're swf or not, everyone with names from a TV show or a group of TTV Survivors or (like last time I played swf) everyone having "drunk" in our names.... It lets me know if I should say "hell no" and leave or if I'm feeling like dealing with it

Why would u want avoid a certain player? lol and if theres a SWF indicator most killer will just dodge making Qtimes even worse. I'm up for one at the end of the match tho, so killers can't blame his loss on a swf

Because i don't want to play with or against people who wished me cancer?

I can check Player profiles and see if it's a swf on PC so i can prepare myself for it by using better addons or a Killer I'm comfortable with. The Information is already there. And Killer Lobbys are almost instant. So Lobby dodging is not really a problem.

Hard to believe this is kicking around from June 2020 and Killers can still see the survivors ID's pregame

After getting stream sniped earlier I'm disappointed by this function when survivors can't see the killer pregame

Why do I see their names at all? I just need to know which Meg is which. That's all.

do you have ttv in your username? If so you may wanna take it out.

This sounds like sour grapes. If they ever remove this I want SWF's to be shown in the end game screen, and who joined with who.

the whole point is the killer shouldn't have the advantage of being able to tell who he is playing against (streamer or not) if the survivors cannot see who the killer is.

Seeing the characters is more than enough, but why is the killer completely anonymous/unknown yet the survivors are known in advance?

I know you can't switch killer in the lobby but if both survivors and killers were kept unknown to each other, then the killers could be switched right up to the start of the match so no one can "plan ahead" based on who they are facing.

When BHVR stops TTVs from smurfing down their MMR to stomp/meme/abuse newcomers or people trying to learn a new killer to make themselves look better on stream, then I'd consider sympathizing.

There is a reason why people skip TTV lobbies.

There's no need for the survivor names to be in the lobby. Even the hacker justification is insufficient. That's an issue they need to resolve independently of the usernames. With that said, the lobbies should not display any username.

I fail to see how this is a problem. If anything, I would advocate for survivors also being able to see the killer's name before the match (but not who they're playing, obviously.) Being able to recognize and dodge known toxic players or hackers is a good thing and survivors deserve that grace as well.

If you don't want people to see your hours or your wall of -reps, private your profile. If you're paranoid that people are recognizing you and dodging you, change your name periodically. It's not like you don't have the tools to circumvent a bad reputation if so you choose.

i have learned to deal with stream snipers who join the stream wand get extra information but the killers facecamping you because of a previous game is not balanced and i would personally recommend that they make it so you can't get in the same lobby with a killer twice in a row

I feel like, while seeing the survivors names in the lobby can be a bad thing like you stated, it is probably better than you can see the names such as if you are playing killer and you recognize a toxic survivor, you can dodge and not have to deal with them. And if you notice a survivor doing really well and being a genuine nice person you can know them for later so if you see them you know you will have a good match.

One time i looped a tombstone myers on badham all game and nobody got killed because when he did get a down i sabotaged the hook and got breakout value

the next game i get the same guy on disturbed ward and guess what he got?

rancor, nemesis, insidious, and devour hope

he ignores my entire team and finds me after 2 gens get done chases me and makes me the obsession with nemesis, downs me and face camps me. i get unhooked and he downs me and waits until the last gen gets done and moris me with rancor

Why are people replying to this old post lol. My stance still stands I guess but I’m a killer main now

I agree with all of that tbh. If we aren’t gonna hide survivor names, let us see the killer too. This is an old post, I have my friend requests and messages off now lol. I change my name every few months still but I play mostly killer so it doesn’t matter much now.

No one says the names shouldn't be visible to each other at the end of the game, which is even visible when manually quitting. It's only the pregame lobby in which it should be hidden from the killer.

As for hacking.. killers can hack too so its double standards
