Why are so many people so toxic?

I'm not talking about tunnelling or t-bagging at the gate, I just mean toxicity in the endgame chat. Is it really so necessary to #########-talk and insult someone just trying to have fun with the game? It always gets me down when I come across someone like that because I really am doing my best while also trying to have fun. It just makes no sense. I just want to understand why.

    A lot of players just react in the heat of the moment unfortunately. I agree it's entirely unnecessary, but unfortunately it will always be a part of online games.

    Yeah, i dont know its like 50% empty chat, 35% talking ######### chat,15% ggs. out of all the games ive played dead by daylight takes the cake for post game bm at least in the mobas i played they normally talk ######### about their team.

    For real I don’t get how some people get so mad as killer or survivor like the game is so casual Who cares if u live, Die, 4K, 0k just have fun you are not in a tournament it’s not real life or death.

    My guess:

    Survivor side: Because hitting red ranks turns every game into mori slug fests

    Killer side: Because they try to be nice but survivors keep t bagging, then the killer gets annoyed and brings out the cheap tactics.
