Why are people so toxic.
God, the fun I've had today bumping into toxic survivors today is astounding.
First game I get a Rank 2, 3 and a 16 with 4 different teacheables sweat against me who was farming. By sweat I mean do rapid 360s aggressively bagging and point and bag if I missed. When I go to confront why 2 reds have to get carried by a rank 16, they say. "Gg, I 360d you ez. Learn how to play the game instead of being salty".
Next game I get a rank 1 with two 14s. And when I called them on it saying, so which one was it, they lied and said they were solo when I clearly looked and they were with the two of them. Then calls me salty for asking why she is sweating low ranks xD
Like... am I the only one to get this much bs out of this already piece of sh#t game? 😅

There has always been toxicity slung but lately survivors have doubled down on how furious they are. Honestly its been a pretty big issue and tbh, i have been playing more toxic because of it, not even intentionally but it works, and i feel less bad about the massive rage if i was a douche beforehand.
Soooo win for me???

Why message them to "confront them"?
Just ignore it and move on its really not that big of deal
13 -
I wish people would grow thicker skin. "Some guy/girl motioned at me in pixels and said something stupid to me". Just ignore them and move on. Stop making pointless threads.
6 -
Couldn't you just as well say "I wish people would grow up and stop in game bullying."?
18 -
I could, but I live in reality.
5 -
And the reality is bullies bully. And there are people who are hurt by them. No point trying to blame the victims. At least call out the bullies...
19 -
Ez one: Personal issues.
2 -
Let me quote Maxim Gorky from his play The Lower Depths: "Miserable being must find more miserable being, then is happy".
That's why people are toxic.
2 -
Its a mindgame. If you let it frustrate you youre more likely to make mistakes and stop thinking. Stop letting it work
0 -
Just don't give them the attention. That's all they want: to show off the fact the can twiddle knobs and press buttons better than you in a game. Ignore and move on.
Alternatively, you could reply in character! I got a toxic message when I defeated some survivors as Hillbilly. There is nothing more empowering than replying to "You trash killer" with "HUWAAAHRGH *snort*".
Well, maybe not responding at all is more empowering. But being in character is fun!

Can someone tell me why the fact that bullies exist in real life that we should just let them skirt by? That their victims should just grow "Thicker Skin"?
I guess that's what they would say to abuse victims to, huh?
9 -
Because depending on the level of bullying, sometimes they do need to just grow thicker skin. Beating the crap out of people that wanted to bully me in school taught me a valuable lesson, as it does most people ghat fight back. And that lesson is im not a victim and not taking someone elses #########. So yeah, unless were talking very very serious bullying, people do need to grow thicker skin
2 -
Because it's easier than doing any actual work to help stop bullying and make the bullies better people and also prevents you from facing the reality that you just don't give a ######### about the victims.
5 -
There is a way to help someone grow thicker skin while being constructive about it. To bully them into submission only further develops mental problems later down the line.
2 -
If they get bullied into submission they didnt learn the lesson and their parents should step in and help them
0 -
There's no "lesson" in bullying, just ######### being ######### while other people look away and justify behavior that makes everyone's lives worse.
6 -
You honestly can't expect everyone to learn the same way.
Some people are naturally more sensitive than others, it's easier for them to lose their cool even when they do grow up, preventing it from happening is much better than letting it happen and expect them to learn a lesson.
1 -
I disagree because i went through it myself and learned how to deal with it
1 -
People who study this stuff for a living disagree with you. I'll take the experts' carefully analyzed data over the outliers' personal experience.
5 -
I dont expect everyone to learn the same way, thats why i said their parents need to step in and help them if they didnt learn.
And i just simply disagree.

Haven't played much killer this week but I can safely say that killers too have doubled down on this.
1 -
What are you doing to combat bullying?
2 -
Ok, and ill take my own life experience over the word of someone online i dont know
1 -
I donate what little money I can and don't pretend bullying isn't an issue because the victims need to "grow thicker skin". I'm not qualified to do much else, I didn't go into psychology.
4 -
I love this question, because it is always brought up whenever someone tries to create a call for action. It's like the "Non-Answer" that sounds like a trump card.
I personally cannot stop bullying on a major scale, I'm a random Aussie on the Internet. But the least I can do is curb it in the communities I am in. Asking others to help stopping others encourage this toxic behaviour helps more than you think. Having someone who understands and supports victims does more good than just telling them to suck it up and "grow thicker skin".
Sure, the best way to deal with bullies is to ignore them, especially online. But some people can't help but have those thoughts fester in their heads, because their personalities are hardwired to be more extroverted, to care more about what other people say, to want to be the best version of themselves they could possibly be. You cannot expect everyone to have the same solution, the same reaction to every scenario, every harassment no matter how small. Some people need more care than others, or do those people not count because "They cannot grow thicker skin"?
So being there, and being understanding, and helping them by also encouraging to curb toxic behaviour from the game helps a lot.

Toxic survivors are for sure annoying. But the best thing to do is ignore them. It sucks to have to deal with them, but if you just don't let it bother you, you'll have a much better time playing the game.
0 -
You can just laugh abt it because there that low that they have to try and make you feel bad it's not your fault its theirs
0 -
Its simple, alot people hate losing.

This community is toxic because the devs don't care about punishing people. The report button doesn't even work, you have too screenshot the person, then send it too them VIA email, and then hope they get punished at all. Literally no other game company does this and I still find it incredibly stupid that BHVR has this. A report should be more then enough, I shouldn't have too go full detective just to get a toxic person banned for a day lol.
0 -
You don't need to send screenshots of the chat, that stuff's automatically sent to them.
0 -
Just got bullied by a 4 man SWF.
They've made the list.
0 -
You actually do. Devs have said multiple times that the best way for them too find someone being toxic is too report, screenshot it, then send it their way, and even if I don't have too send a screenshot in I shouldn't have too email support about someone calling me a dick in chat lol. All of it should be done in game.

Please show me those "multiple times" where they said that. But first, read this: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/

"Video evidence is required or heavily suggested for some offenses, please refer to the lists below."
Here you go. Literally says it in the link you posted, and this is not the first time they've said it.
0 -
this is funny completely out of context lol.
1 -
So you didn't actually read "the lists below", where it says this:
Harassment: Communications Abuse
- Insults, intimidation, hateful speech, repeated harassment
- In-game report REQUIRED / Customer Support ticket OPTIONAL
0 -
I didn't tell anyone to grow a thicker skin. And I think asking someone what they do is a valid question if they're making the accusation that somebody doesn't give a ######### about the victim while simultaneously implying that they are doing something to help. I don't take most things people say on the internet at face value.

Hacking in-game exclusives and / or legacy skins
The acquiring of any in-game skin through anything other than official channels (ie. codes, giveaways, etc.)
The possession of legacy skins without earning them. The cutoff to earn legacy skins happened on November 24, 2016. If a player has obtained legacy skins after this date, then it is considered cheating.
In-game report REQUIRED / Customer Support ticket REQUIRED
Cheated progress / modifying your save file
We need the profile of the person you are reporting. Reportable via support team.
Using any 3rd party software or other method to cheat your save file or any measure of progress contained within your save file. This includes using someone else’s save file.
In-game report REQUIRED / Customer Support ticket REQUIRED
Looks like it's required lol. And you say I didn't read.

You expect them to ban someone because they were being toxic? In a pvp competetive game? Why are people so god damn sensitive in this game? If its not against the GAME's rules, not made up rules. Then who cares? Move on to the next match. If they get me mad it just fuels me to be an even bigger bastard than I already am.
0 -
True. And alot think they are entitled to win every match or it isnt fair, not balanced, needs nerfed, no counter, etc etc.
1 -
well, he is talking about the game. so this thread is fine to be put out. Plus, he has a point.
0 -
I just picked this game and people are incredibly toxic. I have 20 hours played, trying to learn playing killers, get matched against much higher rank players with 1000+ hours played, get absolutely ######### on in matches and on top of that the post game cancer. I don't understand these rank 1-5 players ######### talking a rank 18 killer. Like isn't it enough you all got away and I failed? You really need to be a dick to new players?
1 -
Yeah thats pretty standatd behaviour
0 -
yes, you're the only one.
0 -
That is sad tbh. Ah well, better to just skip post game chat from now on.
1 -
Yup, thats the best policy. The good news is when they fix match making youll shoot up in rank cause youre getting plenty of experience.
1 -
By that logic, you cannot be bothered by anything you read on the internet. They are just pixelated letters after all.
5 -
Just image their kids in decades later got physical or mental bullied in school and they be like "just grow thicker skin"
Thats one way to solve the bullying problem.
