Entity Intervention for one-sided matches

Despite what people think about this game, it's very well balanced. Problem is, that "balance" is held on the top of a pin and the tides can be turned easily and absolutely depending on loadouts/ the map. Everyone has seen all gens done in <5 minutes because the survivors were in SWF, and everyone has seen all 4 survivors dead with 4 gens because the killer brought OP addons. The easiest solution for this problem is to have the entity judge the match and "intervene" by punishing genrushing/ kill rushing.

If all gens are done at a rate that gives the killer no chance of counter play, start EGC early or add a second objective. If the killer tries to kill a survivor super early in the match (4/5 gens still left, not much time has passed, tunneling/camping, mori), protect them and give them a second chance.

Lore-wise this works perfectly since the Entity needs emotion (hope from survivors and rage from killers mostly) for sustenance, and if one side were to gain a huge advantage the entity would be deprived of energy.

So what if a survivor tries to hook suicide over a map/killer/addon they dont like? Or if the survivors are potatos? Should the killer be punished for doing well or because someone gave up early?

While optimal survivors can blitz a killer into oblivion then have "infinite" time to get emblem chase points of the killer why are they punished if the killer was hyper focused on one survivor, the survivors were camo masters or the killer just gave up on a map they do poorly on?

Doing well and abusing an extreme unbalance are not the same. if I'm playing survivor and my team does all the gens too fast I'll run the killer around the map during EGC, and if the survivors I'm facing are doing poorly I make sure they're all equally hooked and then slug down people on death hook to be saved later

Nothing like that should be considered until we see how they revamp the MM system. If it works, it should be placing player with, and against, players of relatively equal skill. Then, hopefully we won't see seasoned killers abusing potato survivors, or vice versa.

well you used argument "swf" well what if killer is bad and it took him over 3mins to down 1st surv? (i mean surv was decent and killer didnt dropped chase like he should) when i get chased 1st and i loop as safe as possible (rarely, most of the time im getting hit because i want to do 1 loop more or punish killer for respecting pallet), so survs should be punished because killer couldnt catch 1st surv (or change target) ? and only thing they can do are gens?

and about killer part i dont use add ons on my mains(pig/wraith) and i have games with 4k on 4-5gens on red ranks as well as no kills (with about 6 hooks) its all about matchmaker not balance itself.

1st we need better matchmaker with locked builds, so MM could count build into semi mmr (example killer without add ons would get easier games like no swf, and team made of 2+ soloQ wouldnt get mori or purple/red add ons) and we need locked builds before MM to do it.

Ofc 4men swf would feel bad about playing vs op stuff over and over, but its still better than giving those killers to soloQs, and same with no add ons killers, give those to soloQs. Will that solve everything? No. But at least you can expect what you will get from your opponent.

The amount of times I will never forgive my brother for blue shelling me is too much to count.

Mario kart, the destroyer of friendships and family bonds.

Yeah that sounds like a fair point. Since well if the new match making takes care of the problem. No real need for a come back system.

So you basically give them another chance to get a kill/escape? You shouldn’t have to do that (or at least it shouldn’t be recommended) in order to rank up. It’ll just extend matches for no reason and piss off a good portion of players because they’re now forced to give their opponents second chances. You’ll more undeserved victories because of the second chance, which would piss everybody off. If I kill all four Survivors without a Mori within like five minutes, then I shouldn’t safety pip. That should tell you that you belong at a much higher rank. Moris shouldn’t have you run the risk of depipping just for using it. You’re using something the game gives you to your advantage but you get punished for using it? Hell no.

So the game is very well balanced when a survivor camps pallets and when you caught him, theres 1 gen left. Very well balanced game and skill.

This doesnt seem right to me.

While you see people complain about gen rushing I dont think we blame the survivors for that. Theyre just doing the objective optimally. Its not their fault but a fault with the game mechanics.

"Kill Rushing" (which Ive never heard before but fair enough) I think more comes down to match making/bad emblem system.

In either case, its not the players fault and not right to punish them for it.

Id rather they just add a secondary objective (to slow the game down a touch) and implement a better match making/emblem system (which I concede cant be easy to do in a game like this).

This whole "optimal objective" thing gives me a bad taste in my mouth. There is no fun in genrushing, there are other things you can do in the game aside from rushing the objective, especially if the the killer has 0 hooks 4 gens in.

So youre saying players should purposefully slowdown to give the other side a fighting chance? I mean as killer ill sometines slowdown a little if i think MM has given me noobs but you cant expect people to behave that way. The point is to win and i wont fault anyone for doing that
