Ban Time

I've been banned twice for getting disconnected randomly (not my internet). The first time it was about 3 mins and the second was longer and on a different day.

I know its decreased the amount of angry dcers, but I think there needs to be a change. I think it should only increase time in the same 24hr period and then reset after that time is up. Hopefully that makes sense.

What do you all think?

It goes up but the time resets when you play a certain amount of games without dcing, if it’s a bug you should probably submit a ticket

This is why it's hard. You might be telling the truth and are being punished unfairly. On the other hand, without any proof you could be DC'ing on purpose and complaining about a justified penalty.

I don't know what you can do to show which is true other than recording every game in case it happens.

Yeah, the game needs to be able to catch when the disconnect wasn't on your side, and not take action against you for it.

I've been booted and shown THIS screen afew times... Fortunately it doesnt happen often enough for the DC timer to get high. I just always end up thinking in the back of my head "Great...those survivors are gonna think I ragequit, even though I DCed mid hooking animation while winning".

I have got that screen before but not because I got dced from a match. I have only got that screen when I was on the main menu or on the killer/survivor screens but went to do something for a bit so pretty much for inactivity. Once I get back though I am able to get right back in though.

there is an entire subforum dedicated to people getting banned after random disconnects from the game. It has happened to me and countless others. https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/DPP_RankUpdateError

My game crashed last night with "game security violation detected",... wanna know what they wan t to say caused it?

My RGB razer keyboard, it most certainly is happening.

Fun fact! It actually is because of RGB devices! I've been booted based upon my mouse and headset before because EAC is incompetent at catching cheaters but have shiny lights on your headset? Get booted hacker.

What is odd is, I streamed over 1,000 hours on twitch of DBD and never had this issue while using the razer rgb keyboard, now I take a 10 month break, come back and get banned first day? very weird reason to be time banned from a game.

Their EAC, and EAC in general, would've been changed in that time. I've been having the issue for a year- ever since i got my mouse & headset- but at least you've made it 1k hours without getting it.

is the fix making sure the taskbar razer icon isnt running? I think I rebooted my machine right before playing DBD and it launched the taskbar razer icon, but tonight I plan on making sure its not running, I usually have it off maybe thats why I escaped the ban for so long?

    This is ridiculous....

I fixed mine through using LGHub to switch all RGB lighting off on my headset and my mouse has a button in the middle I can hold to stop it flashing. Closing the program may help you- but unforuantely didn't for me, and my mouse runs independantly of software. Can hardly uninstall the drivers lmao.
