The struggle mechanic in a cage...

Can we just get this for all hooks? Far, far better system then breaking your keyboard, still keeps you engaged and means a lag spike won't kill you. Good job.

Delayed skill checks are gonna be fun. Especially if they happen to be Overcharge sized.

I very, very rarely play survivor and one of the core reason is I get tired of my wrist hurting from struggling.
Maybe this is the devs way of sneakily testing a new struggle mechanic. If it fails, at least the cage differentiates itself somewhat. If it works then maybe it something they'll consider for a struggle change.
Or maybe the devs aren't doing 4D cheese sculpting the house on the hill with us and it's just a new mechanic for a new thing. But I agree. I'd personally prefer skill checks to button mashing myself.
