TIA

I play on a extremely strong computer that can run like rainbow six siege on max yet this game i still framerate drop and stutter. So idk if theres much that can be done.

Well, tell us your specs my dude. Lower your resolution, before i bought a new pc i played on a crappy 300$ laptop. I was playing the game with 30-35 fps, in game res-100, desktop resolution 800x600 fullscreen. It was playable. Put your laptop on high performance mode, play games with the laptop plugged. Just play around with your nvidia/amd settings for a better performance. Use a SSD, defragment your HDD (only hdd, don't do this to ssd's), use a black wallpaper, hide your icons, disable the steam overlay, don't run any other programs on the background

I feel you man. I played the last 400 hours on my ######### laptop. 800x600 with like 45-50 fps.. on a indoor map maybe 55.. Its really hard, I don't see through walls, fps drops when playing against freddy and the game is really ugly. I still got to rank 1 killer tho.
You can clean your PC with programs like CCleaner, Malwarebytes and stuff like that. You can set your graphics card priority for the game to high and also set battery performance to ultimate/high. Also if you have less then 8GB RAM close all other applications that one really helps. :)

3 years ago I was playing 800 * 600 20 fps xD

Nah I don't believe it hahaha
40 fps is barely playable with all the dips I can't imagine playing on 20 fps

As someone on 15fps I can assure you it's hell

Since the confirguration file options got gutted, all guides on YT are outdated now. All you can do now is outside of the game, like your graphic card settings, operating system power settings, process priority in task manager, etc.

There's not too much you can do as far as I know, it's not like games where you can run heavy FPS configs and stuff like source engine ones.
Make sure your power setting is on performance mode, lower your resolution scaling and make sure you don't have unnecessary applications running at the same time, CPU priority to high. The usual stuff.
If you want to change your actual resolution as well just change your desktop res and then launch the game, pretty sure that works? Then you can go all the way to super low res like 800x600 or even 640x480.

right now , we cant do anything to get more perfomance after pach 3.7.0 since they remove the only way to increase fps with engine files soo the best we can do its just wait untill the devs give us more optimization settings....

This ok
So far I disable vsync and preprocessing to 10, not sure if this improved the performance

I can do a tutorial, I found new ways to make dbd playable on machines below minimum requirements

Nice to know you can do. So when or will you? Do you need anything? π₯Ίπ

That'd help me so much, and probably would help alot of others. If you'd make a tutorial,we'd all appreciate it very much :D

I'm working on it, I might do it in form off a video so it's much easier for everyone to follow the steps. It just will take a little bit of time since I'm a lazy ass with not much experience of video editing lol

I know how.
It's a touchy subject but.....
If you change our IN GAME resolution, let me give you an example
Then you'll be sacrificing gameplay graphics for higher FPS. In my opinion it's worth it.
NOW.
The issue is that, this is Stretched Resolution, and people are really touchy about this, but it does provide 120 FPS, smoother gameplay and your graphics won't be as choppy, but well...you know. My BF just bought me an HDR, 4k Monitor and it cannot handle 120 FPS with High Graphics on Dead by Daylight, so I tried changing my resolution in game and it provided me with 120 FPS and smoother gameplay.
I go back and forth on it because well....it does provide me with better vision, so instead I went back to normal mode and removed Full Screen mode. I made my window a bit smaller and it still provided me with the same graphics at 110-120 FPS.
So, you have 2 options here.

i already know this , but ty anyway. i think we still need more optimization settings to be honest....well time to wait.....

same for me but with less fps X,D

You don't need to use stretched necessarily. You can just use some other 16x9 res

You take ur time dude,we are gonna wait for months if we need. We appreciate the effort

Can you provide more info with regards to what you mean by:
- Minimum Requirements - do you mean systems that are equipped with GPUs that do not allow DX Feature Level 11.0?
- Playable - if the game can become "run-able" on systems with specs below minimum requirements, what performance can realistically be achieved.
FWIW, this game suffers massively in terms of performance from the fact that it utilizes so many different graphical development suites (as per the following interview with BHVR developers) , all ultimately imported into the production context of Unreal Engine 4 that came out in 2014. Given the release of DBD in 2016, the development must have started pretty much right after the engine's release. Optimization of performance is a daunting task for well-established engines, but doing the same with mew engine, while using multiple graphical suites can produce a massive bottleneck in terms of a given game's performance on systems other than those on the high end upon release.

will be waiting til then ~~
