Dbd doesnt get along with my 4k monitor?
I have a pretty strong pc (as it can obviously play 4k games) but for dbd it causes framerate lag is this intentional and can it be fixed or do i have to put my resolution to like 1080 any advice is appreciated thanks!

Checking the patch notes for the current PTB (ETA being in about 3 weeks time), they've added support for 4k resolution.

Weird because even on the ptb im getting some framerate lag. Maybe it's my resolution scaling i think by default its like 300 maybe dbd doesnt like that?

Sorry I just re-checked the notes.
The exact wording is "Better accommodate" not "added support". I assume this means there will still be some issues but it should be a whole lot smoother than beforehand.
For the optimal experience I'd suggest going for the 1080 res instead- though I hope 4k is available for when they update the graphics it doesn't seem to be now.

So just change my resolution before i load up dbd! Got it ill try that thanks! (Itll probably look atrocious but what can ya do until new graphics)

Since you play at 4k, do you play at 240? Well at least on other games. I don't think DbD supports past 144.

Overwatch ive reached that and it was max graphics so yeah. Idk why dbds the only game that hates my monitor.

If you're already running at 4k, I would be careful with resolution scaling. It can cause different issues depending on where you're setting it. There's some settings in Windows that'll simply increase the size of text and icons so they're appropriately sized on high resolutions (4k), but there's also settings that'll increase the amount of pixels rendered. Adding a 300% scale on top of a 4k resolution can turn your 3840 x 2160 resolution into 11520 x 6480. That's nine times the amount of pixels it's trying to render.
Side note: If you are setting the resolution scale through Windows, that has also been known to cause mouse clicks to not register in many games. On the off chance that's happening to you, that's probably why: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/158-technical-issues#the-game-isn't-registering-my-mouse-clicks
The first thing I'd suggest is turning off resolution scaling, see if that helps. Check for the option to change the size of text and icons instead if you can.

Oh okay ill try this thanks! For some reason the scaling was 200% by default (idk if windows did that or the company that built it) it looks like the windows one just ups the icons but ill try setting it to 100% on dbd and see if it runs any better. If not i can try setting it to 1080p like was suggested. (I know i didnt have this problem before i upgraded)
