horror round the world
what regional horror storys or icons do you guys know from your home areas that would make a scary deadbydaylight chapter ?
For me Italy
has alot of storys of vampires and for some reason haunted paintings
I'd love to be closer to Ireland where the headless horseman comes from
America has lots of slashers but isn't old enough to have many ghosts
Of course Asia has oni

I have to disagree about America not having many ghosts or lore. The states are ripe with folklore about ghosts and monsters. Yes, they are derived from European and Eastern legends, but too be fair most legends are taken from another region.
America has legends of ghosts, cryptids, and aliens. A lot of ghost stories in the Eastern part of the states centers around the various wars fought in America, most referring to the Civil War.

Here in Indonesia (and I think South-East Asia generally), it's mostly angry spirits and voodoo-esque black magic.

Basically bigfoot but lives in a swamp.
Though, we do have an issue with wild chimps so the legend could be based on that too

Spring-heeled Jack was a killer who apparently, according to those who claimed they saw him, would jump great distances to avoid capture. Having a character like that could cause some jump scares. I think there's another character available in another game based on that, though.

Mexico! I would love to see "La Llorona" or "El Charro #########" as killers.

Germany has many Myths and Legends. Near my Hometown in northern Germany is the so called 'Teufelsmoor'. Midst of the 19th Century the was a smuggler called "De Rode Gert" (The Red Gert). He was a tall, well build Guy, always dressed in Black. His right Hand was always covered in a black, leather glove, where only the Index Finger was shown. Rumors had it, that his Hand was covered in the Blood of his Victims. Due to his smuggling activities he was a rich man in a very poor region. He always payed the debs of people, and forced them to work during rough stormy night on his tours. He killed you instantly when you disobeyed his order.
He fought like a mad man. He had prepped oars with Spikes that he rammed through the skull, or drowned his uncounsious Victims. He was never cought, and sunk on one of his tours. Ironicly in the same region where he killed most of his Victims. Legends has if, that when you are in this Region in a stormy Autum night you'll encounter a red haired man, that will offer you some booze. And if you accept it, he will drag you into a wet grave.

Well there is the creation myth which is a spider queen that created everyone. Theres the skinwalkers, shamans who can take the form of animals, usually wolves. Windigo or wendigo, Bigfoot but more vampire. Thats just north America. If you want you can look at the Aztecs and other central American peoples.

Not in my neck of the woods (if you'll pardon the pun) but imagine the Jersey Devil and the map being the Pine Barrens where it originates. Very freaky story if you haven't heard of it before.
