Matchmaking rant 😡😡😡
When are you guys going to fix this? Its so bad the game is almost unplayable. You either get potatoes for team mates vs a good killer or you get a bad killer and good team mates. Ive been playing DBD for about 8 months now and its never been this bad. Its to the point where im forced to team up with a squad to fix my potatoe teammates problem and then just pray we get a decent killer.
As new killers find it frustrating to go against red rank survivors, its a 2 way street. Im tired of playing new killers game after game after game. Out of 10 games ill get maybe 2 red rank killers and the rest are almost always rank 20s. You cant tell me that there isnt any other killers searching between ranks 5-16? I mean the game is fun and you guys are always updating with new killers/survivors/maps ect... But can we get the basics down first? The game will be alot more enjoyable if i could play with people close to my skill level or at least know how to hit a skill check or loop the killer. It doesnt need to be perfect but it sure as hell could be alot better than it is right now. First 2 games of the day.
End of my rant and for the record im playing on xbox one.

Yeah, we all know. The damned thing has been this way since 2019.
According to their Anniversary stream, the MMR system is almost ready to go and should be out in a month, maybe two. Now, whether or not the MMR system will do its job is anyone's guess. This is BHVR. But at least we won't be able to claim rank issues anymore since rank will be publicly hidden at that point.

The MMR will probably make or break DBD for me. Of course I'll give it some time to be tweaked after release, but I sincerely hope to see improved matchmaking times and player skill level consistency.

I find that rank ones paired up with rank twenties to appease a rank ten killer to be ass backwards matchmaking. It is a mess and the system itself is determining the winner in its current functioning.

I haven't been able to play for 3 weeks. Got on last night...my goodness...matchmaking is worse than ever.
I'm currently rank 9 as killer and was going against rank 1-2 survivors match after match. Obviously this isn't anything new.
Didn't help that they acted like insidious little turds during the match (the usual crap...bodyblocking, constant flash-blinds, teabagging, pointing etc).
All I was trying to do was my backlog of Rift challenges. It's disheartening to be away, then return to DBD and have the same crap served up.
Oh and to the Bunny Feng who was live streaming...hope that chainsaw tasted good.

They confirmed in their anniversary stream that the MMR system, which is planned to fix things like this, will be introduced within the month.

The problem with that is what do they define as a win or a loss on either side? If it's just what we consider pipping it should be an issue. But if it's kills and escapes there will be a huge problem with the MMR system.

Like they explained in the post, it will be determined through multiple factors, possibly a combination of what we've got now. For example, it could be based on time alive, if you escaped, how many bloodpoints you got, a combination, or something else entirely. That's the point of a hidden MMR system- we don't know.

I feel you man. A couple of weeks ago I played a match as a killer. I'm a level 13 killer but I was put into a match where the survivors were ranks 4, 3, and two 2's. #########?!
Hell last night I played a survivor match and had just as a frustrating experience. I'm a rank 8 survivor and every other survivor in the match were single ranks as well, but the killer was ranked 17. We had no business being teamed up against one another. It was no fun for us, and it was definitely no fun for him/her. This is why no one sticks around to play killer anymore.

If the ratio of active survivors to active killers remains the same, NOTHING will change no matter what system is introduced. The devs care about the amount of time folks sit in matchmaking. It’s very simple to see

Rank 10 and it just gave me a match against four rank 1s with two flashlights,all with Sprint Burst,BT,Dead Hard. I usually don't get mad,or care. I usually don't feel completely out matched or overwhelmed. I really did there. Scored maybe two hits the whole time,and couldn't keep any pressure on the gens. Saw afterwards they had insta heals. So I'm not sure what I could've done. I really tried. It's even worse when you get a team like that and they get to pick the map on top. If they weren't SWF they were easily the most coordinated team I've ever seen on this game without commms. I don't like the feeling that I'm being laughed it. Like yeah,I get that you are clicking your flashlight so I'll chase you,so your friend can finish the gen behind me. I'm not that stupid. I definitely got better than I was. Because the only advice I seemed to be getting was "git gud". At least more people are saying it's an issue now.

I haven't seen any red ranks today and only a few purples. Usually I get tons of reds and purples and hardly ever people around my rank. I don't know if I'm lucky getting good matches or I got lucky and I am playing with new MMR tests going on. I like to think it is the latter because that would mean new MMR system looks promising.

It's been a few weeks since I played a killer match so I thought I would give it a whirl. This is what I encountered literally 20 minutes ago. Needless to say this is why I don't play killer much anymore.

Ouch lol. On the other hand ranks doesn't matter at all now on both sides. Last few nights I played vs red/purple killers that should be rank 12 at best. Same goes for survivors.

All of us green rank killers are playing against solid red Survivors 90% of the matches. Not sure if it's platform/region/swf/some other issue but that's where your 9-13 killers are at.

Could be worse, you could play with survivors that sandbag you and won't take a protection hit in the Endgame with NOED off the table.

Exactly this. I'm a rank 13 killer, and all I get anymore are red rank swf teams. Playing as killer can be fun and get you a lot of blood points, but with the way this matchmaking has been going I don't feel compelled to keep playing as killer.

It's hurt to see when your team and killer are potatoes and you have to play hard and survive yourself while babysitting 3 survivors

Drag one of them into the basement and keep them there. Throw the survivor rule book out, its not doing you any favors
