What is the point of NOT having a count of the hooks each surv has?
Can anyone PLEASE tell me why? it should be visible for both killer and survs, you even have a space for it...

I like it...

ya it is logical to have it so why dont we have it?

It's because Behaviour devotes no resources whatsoever to UI or UX.

My first question would be...can you really not count to 3?
7 -
My next question would be... why are survivor statuses shown in the bottom left of the HUD? Do we REALLY not know that the game starts with 4 survivors?
It’s a quality of life request, not a counting issue.

Im tired of using my memory resources to remember is someone is dead on hook and a lot of further planning
I think the reason is not implemented is lazyness for programming the UI although it was planned since there is a space for it

It would have to be a counting issue in order for it to be a QoL issue; since it's literally only up to 3.

With everything that can be going on in a match, sometimes it’s difficult to keep track how many hooks each survivor has left. Maybe they went into struggle while you were in a chase and you missed it.... situations like that.
It’s a QoL change that I agree would be nice to see from both a survivor or killer perspective.

Kind of difficult to remember who is who and how many times they were hooked when everyone is the same character wearing the same cosmetics.
Also, the repeated pallet stuns and incessant flashlight blinds May cause the temporary loss of arithmetic skills.

Uh...no it's not? o.O

yup facing the typical x4 Dwight SWF with the red tshirt and red caps

I’d take any Dwight combo over the usual quad Bloody Blendettes. At least with Dwight, I have something nice and plump to look at when I chase him. Claudette causes my eyes to bleed.

Try playing someone like the hag against 4 people with the same character/costume and keep track of them.
Teleporting can disorientate you making it immensely harder to keep track of everyone when they all look the same.

I really like this feature request. Sometimes when I am already winning I don't want to tunnel survs... but there are two meg or claudette twins...
3 -
It can be difficult to keep track sometimes, plus survivors sometimes look the same, and also its more info for the solo que survivors.

I like this idea. Like other people have already said, some survivors wear the exact same cosmetic so unless one is the obsession it’s hard to tell who you’re chasing. I’ve been hit by DS because of this, as I thought I was chasing somebody else.

Because tracking stuff like that is just one more element of being a good killer.
I agree that interface elements are important, but not everything needs to be tracked for us.

There is no point because the devs didn't actively decide not to include this, they just didn't include it at all. It'd be like asking what's the point of you not opening a thread about the exact composition of silk. There is none, because it wasn't an active decision you made.

Its really not hard to count to 3.

Disagree, there is a space below, it is just a necessary UI upgrade, we got like 80% of consensus but no feedback from devs/mods

You can disagree if you'd like, it's just a fact. Asking someone what's the point of them not doing something they didn't consider is fallacious.
10 people commented here. Hardly representative of a game that sees tens of thousands of players at peak hours.

it's really not hard to notice a gen starts sparking when you let go or that the timing of skillchecks is getting shorter but survivors are allowed to be handholded through the match
Hell this change would be nice for survivors too i bet. I lost count how many times a survivor exposed themself trying to BT save a person on deathhook

Thats why we are here, for improving the UI on something that devs didn't have in mind yet

It can be really hard to keep track in the thick of things. But op, I'm not sure I would like this bc it would incentivize killer and survivor to play more aggressive towards the survivor or killer that is losing already.

Sometimes in the heat of the moment, I forget if someone is on death hook or not. Especially if the Survivor team has multiple people running the same character.

Kinda hard to keep count on a team of identical Blendettes... Care to share some pointers?

is that a blendette?

Skill floor reduction... even thougth this one is so neglectable that it doesen't matter... so why not.

yep and it is something the laziest intern programmer could do, not to mention SWF abuse dressing the same for their survival

I have commented on these boards before that I would like to see something like this implemented. The number of times I've accidentally killed someone because they went into struggle on their first hook and I didn't know is high. The number of times I've chased the wrong survivor because they all look alike (these days, I often don't bother hooking anyone in those matches unless I'm really feeling bold; I'll just walk around and watch them do gens) is also pretty up there.
The only gameplay reason I've seen against this is "it would help killers tunnel," which is actually not true. A tunneling killer is gonna go after the person getting unhooked, they don't need a counter to help them with that. The only killers who would really benefit from it are the ones who are trying to "spread the love" and not focus on any one survivor.
It would help survivors, too. You can make better decisions about what to do if you know how many hook states each of your teammates has left.

Not to be that guy, but probably the reason is that many would use that information for tunneling.

May I ask something stupid?
Any of you ever mis-count your own hook as a Survivor?
Got on hook, sip your tea, realised you were on 2nd hook, died.
Killers are busy on applying pressure you know?
I tend to give a survivor their 3rd chance if they got 2 hooks too fast (or get to 2nd stage because others rush gen)

I don't know if it helps, but to keep count, I keep them numbered in my head. Then adjust that number by the number of times they've been hooked. So, surv 1 becomes 2 after the first hook, but surv two stays two. When surv two is hooked once, they become surv 3, etc. So, regardless of what hook they're on I just need to remember a 4 digit number. When someone dies, I remove them from the sequence, but keep the existing survivors numbered the way they were before the other surv died. They start as 1234, but when they're all dead they are 4567. You could also just start everyone at 0, but I find it easier to have them numbered differently to differentiate them from one another.
