This is why nobody plays nurse anymore

So I recently watched OhTofus guide on how to play nurse and thought: why not try play her?

I already had her leveled a bit for nurses calling so there was no reason not to try her.

Now just look at this screenshot and then try to figure out why I will never play her again

They clearly were a 4man because they had very similar names.

Nearly all of them were red ranks and I´m a green rank killer.

They had a shroud, a really strong toolbox, a key and a map.

one of them also had Ooo.

Then they all wrote gg ez in the end game chat

Nevermind I see you're on PC, maybe she's worth it. M&a isn't worth it though, same for Thana. Put tracking perks like whispers and bitter murmur if u don't have teachables

Yeah I have to agree with others. You showcase a problem but it isn't unique to Nurse. If you had focused on the bugs and the cooldown being obnoxiously overkill that would've fit better.

This would have been a hard game for you whether you were using nurse or not. It was made more difficult because you were using a killer thats extremely hard to learn and punishing to beginners. You need to just accept 3 things

    1) while learning nurse you are absolutely going to get stomped. I depipoed back to r13 and was still getting hammered by yellows (im r1 normally). It is what it is. You will get better and you will eventually start landing hits consistently if you keep practicing.

    2) People who say things like that are truly dumb, its much easier to just close the chat box and move on

    3) those items they were using are part of the game and you knew they had them going in. Its the same as when survivors complain about insta saws or pigs tampered timer, or camping/tunneling. Its part of the game. Get over it.

Keep at it, shes very rewarding once you get the hang of her as long as you can deal with the bugs

The thing about playing nurse is that if you blink too much , you spend most of the match staring at the ground that can actually add up to a gen or more worth of time, the key is learning when and when not to use your second blink and always blink behind where you last see the survivor because 9/10 times they will try to double back on you around a wall or corner, if they aren't doubling back they're most likely not looking behind them and full sending it in one direction which then its usually easier to catch survivors because they dont know where your gonna blink or how long you've held the blink etc... as for gen rush even some of the best pc nurses get beat by this theres no way around it with a coordinated SWF who focuses on gens you're pretty much SOL even if you slug it just takes one unbreakable to completely turn the tide the other way

While were on the topic of Nurse blinks I have a question. I was a good nurse before the rework but after I'm reduced to "okay" nurse.

1: When I am traveling the map to find people should I be using both blinks or saving 1?

2: Once I find someone and if there is no way 2 blinks will close enough distance to land a hit. Should I use both blinks to catch up and recharge or use only one to catch up then blink twice to try to land a hit?

So your point is that you agree that nurse is actually hard to play and is also very punishing missplays?

Yea that seems kinda right. If you wanna be a master of the only killer that has the potential to kill all 4 every game it should be very very difficuilt.

    Agreed!

    1. Yes. I know that doesn't answer the question, but it really depends on the situation. 1 blink is technically faster, but sometimes you need your terror radius to work for you. It also depends on how long your cooldown is. It's almost always worse to eat a full double cooldown at base.

    2. I use the chain blink window as a mindgame pretty regularly. Especially if the survivor is looking back at me and I suspect Dead Hard. You want to keep zoning in mind. It's really bad to overshoot a 2nd blink and give the survivor inside positioning on the map. It's often effective to have an accurate first blink, let them juke if you're unsure on the 2nd blink, eat the very short single blink fatigue, and then have 2 blinks with you right on top of them.

Don't give on nurse! (It is up to you, but I would try again another time). Nurse is difficult to master. Many players gave up on her... just because it feels like Dark Souls II... And yes... while it is difficult to play for the killer, it is "EZ" to play agains nurse as a surv... because as a surv u need to master one thing: how to loop the killer. As a killer, you have to learn 16 or 17 different strategies for each killer. As a killer, you have 4 perk slots and survs has 16. As a killer you can be in one place at the time, and survs can be in 4 places at same time.

With broken matchmaking you could add Rank 3 + Rank 4 + Rank 4 == 11... and still they outrank you O_O...

After all of above, those f... red rank survs, understanding their advantage still dare to say "ez". Like... Nursey, you've just got matched with surv-cowards.

my strategy is to blink right behind where the survivor was because most will double back from corners or walls and if you're double blinking everywhere I want you to record your match and go back with a stopwatch and count how much time you spent staring at the ground recovering from blinks, unless they're ridiculously far away (which you should question the chase over gen patrol) you dont want to use the second blink unless you know you're gonna be in position to land a hit otherwise they've gained a mile ahead of you while you're looking at the ground , sometimes it's ok to blink once and move around without blinking for a short period just to pick when the right time to blink is , nurse needs less of a fatigue time for her blinks in all honesty and the fact that using her power too much can hurt in the long run is a joke its ridiculous to have to keep track of all the things just to work properly as a nurse on top of the game going on

Nurse arguably isn't even the best killer anymore , with omega blink nerfed and the number of blinks at 2 (unless you want to throw on the garbage add on for one extra blink without being able to blink through walls )the slower movement speed, the fatigue , on top of those nerfs made it to where you cant make even a couple of mistakes without losing the game

They did it to shut survivors up. Sadly itll soon be done to the hillbilly and likely the spirit and freddy again. Sad that DS is still the best perk in the game yet its barely touched. They dont make changes for the high ranks, remember that. They focus on the new, casual playerbase that will throw them a bone in the form of microtransactions and sales. Look at the new survivor perk coming out, the killer community is showing huge ammounts of concern, however nothing will be done because it would likely effect sales

So why isn't survivor just as difficult? I mean, they have the power to destroy every killer except nurse, yet they are easy to play.

If you think nurse is not the best killer in the game, you need to git gud. A good nurse still steamrolls survivors. They do need to fix her bugs however.

So how is this the character's fault? Or do you now want to never play again cause you most likely would have lost as any other character too? The post doesnt make sense.

This sucks. :/ I'm sorry your match making was so gross. This isn't fun and these survivors acted like #########. On a good note, at least we have confirmation that devs are actively working hard to fix this.

Her fatigue is too much with the blink reduction they gave her , you can say git Gud all you want I know I'm not the best but only bot survivors get steamrolled on this game survivor is EZ mode , the gen times are so broken

  • MrPenguin
    MrPenguin Member Posts: 2,426

@The_Krapper Yeah survivors and gen times are busted against most killers, but not a good nurse. The charge change hurt her, but a good nurse will still dominate any team unless bugs screw her completely.

I am about to achieve devotion 7, I am a main nurse and believe me that to date I keep making mistakes ...

By the way, your build is anti-healing, so that nurse's calling? ... well I run into any killer with that build and I only heal for adrenaline.

It is crazy to be healing for 2 minutes.

Of course, you can choose to play in easy mode (Spirit), with which you play a whole day Spirit and you dominate it.

The nurse on the contrary, you can play for 2 months in a row and you will continue making mistakes ... but there comes a point that you are already starting to be lethal.

Have to relearn a few things. Fatigue time, blink range, charge. Completely new addons. Any minor mistake can complete screw you over. And if the survivors don't slip up in some big ways, it's pretty much game over.

And that's like, a third time to kind of relearn Nurse? And for what? Someone who's not nearly as strong as everyone stimulates. Naturally, not as strong as she used to be. I'd really just. Rather not. Fun is pretty big factor to. Well, maybe not for everyone.

Just learn Spirit dude. You don't have to calculate or predict. Just blast your volume or stand still for a little. Crazy how easy it is.
