In all honesty there is no right or wrong answer. There are so many factors to take in such as what map is it, tile spawn and layout, what perks is each side running, what items or addons does each side have, what killer is it, matchmaking, SWF, offerings, voice comms, how good your teammates are and what they're running, even down to the way dedicated servers behave.

For instance, a 4 man SWF running the best perks and items + addons is gonna have a ridiculously easy time running against a Nurse trying to do her daily on Lery's, and 4 solo survivors are gonna have a much tougher time running against Iridescent Head + Infantry Belt Huntress with an Ebony Mori on Autohaven, though I do believe survivor generally has it easier more often due to things like how many more maps are in their favor compared to killers, or how they can have second chance perks overlap, and I 100% believe killer is way more stressful than survivor.

I feel like they're about even. With killer being a bit harder.

Killer can only chase 1 at a time, so you have a 75% to not being the targeted player effectively, so survivor is probably slightly easier with less pressure. Easier or harder really depends on the quality of player who are against.

Survivor is harder at low ranks because other Survivors in your game are mostly going to be inexperienced so you have a harder time having to do EVERYTHING yourself. This reverses at high ranks as other Survivors end up carrying their weight.

Killer is polar opposite to this. They're easier at low ranks and harder at high ranks for the exact same reason as above.
