I’m actually heartbroken.

I loved this game when I first played it. Hours and hours. I defended both survivors side and killers side.

But I can’t play this anymore. Cheats, toxicity, SWF, bad match making.... a killer can’t do anything anymore.

Besides running in a circle because you actually found someone to chase, since they all know where you are, chasing that one person who knows all the tricks, while the other three are gen rushing the other side of the map, all a killer can do is kick a few gens and not do anything.

The game isn’t the real problem. It’s the people who want to find the easy outs. The ones who think they are skilled by cheating, or gaining an unfair advantage.

It’s really and truly heartbreaking. I really was passionate about this game. But I can’t do it anymore. There is no fun, no appeal, and no joy in it.

Alright, gonna address a couple of these.

Cheats: People have been hacking in this game forever. That's not a justification, but I would like to point out that all the devs are currently working from home due to the pandemic, so cheating is harder for them to catch, even when reported. They can't just ban everyone that gets reported.

Match Making: They are currently working on new match making algorithms. They haven't released when it will be implemented, but it does look to be better than what we currently have.

Cheating isn't the problem, a dev team that crippled every strong tool a killer has, then left matchmaking in shambles for 6 months is the problem.

its boggles my mind to see how the devs treat this game. I played smite(a moba) for thousands of hours and they try to make every item and character meta or at least playable but you look at dbd and 80% of perks just suck and some killers are just bad compared to the rest of the cast.

Then, to go on survivor side: facing killers like Legion, who is super fast, and ALWAYS just leaves people laying, the Doctor who can seemingly shock from anywhere, Ghost Face who is undetectable from Spine Chill and other ones, to Pig Face who is also super stealthy AND has a whole other way to kill you to take time out of the game.

That, itself, isn’t the problem. Paired with crummy people who use all these things to their advantage, and meta the hell out of the game, just to feel superior.

I love the Archives and dailies. Maybe a few of you people have met me. I ASK before game if we can help each other (when I’m a killer). Both get dailies and BP. I also admit when defeated and open a gate or carry someone to the exit/hatch. But then, inevitably, things go sideways, and it’s no fun again.

The biggest problem with this game is that it rewards crummy people who play a crummy game.

And that kills my love for this game.

    I love this game.

    I love the killers/survivors.

The issue is not the game. The issue is the players and their behavior.

Every time a new killer/survivors/perk comes out and people say they are toxic, I have to refute it. A Killer or Survivor character is not toxic. The player playing them can choose to be toxic. It's unfortunate that I think a lot of that behavior ruins and sucks the fun out of this game a lot of the time.

Survivor side is also hard because you wait upwards of ten minutes to get into a match, get suckered by some bs gameplay, camped, and your game is over in less than 3 minutes.

Yeah, yeah. I hear it. “Git gud, scrub” I don’t want to get involved in a SPORT of having to play a game and fail for thousands of hours so I can become MR. PRIME META. I want to play a GAME that is fun, thoughtful, and entertaining.

I just 4k'd 3 times in a row at purple ranks after not touching the game for a month and a half. It's not that hard bruh

You just listed 4 low-mid tier killers with really uneducated complaints. Legion is one of the worst killers in the game. He can injure quickly, sure, but outside his power he is an M1 killer. A lot of the time he will hit you with his power and go to the next survivor. A strong strategy to counterplay Legion is don't waste time healing and just do gens. Renders his power useless. Doctor is a good killer if used correctly. If he is making you scream with his Static Blast, hide in a locker if you are in his terror radius. During chases, drop pallets early to avoid him making you scream and not be able to drop them. Ghost Face is like a mini Myers, but it is incorrect to say Spine Chill doesn't work on him. It does. Same goes for Pig. Spine Chill warns you (unless the killer is moonwalking) if they are coming. If the Pig is walking around in her crouch stealth the entire game then she is wasting so much time. 80-90% of the time good Pig players are standing normally. Her power isn't the greatest as it relies on RNG. Some games it can waste a lot of time, some games you get it off on the first go.

If you want to complain about strong killers (even though a strong team of survivors will get 3-4 escapes against any killer), it makes more sense to complain about things like Spirit, who has little to no counterplay and rely entirely on 50/50s.

I agree. Although balance and matchmaking are major issues, the real rot is a lot of the player base.

On many occasions, it's more important to be "LOOK WHAT I CAN DO!" like they've just stood up going to toilet for the first time. They would rather see the killer quit the match.

The problem is peoples take on the anonymity being online provides. I play dbd, lol, rocket league, rainbow six siege and so on and there are always people thinking they can be toxic because society won't/can't punish them online like in real life.

This is gets emphasized by the disparity between the people who want to play casual and the people that want to compete in team based videogames.

I am somewhere in between wanting fun but with a sort of challenge. It is no fun screwing survivors in yellow ranks but also not sweating against people in red as an example.

Cheats are not common. I have over 150 hours on PC and I haven't seen any.

Matchmaking is fine. You'll face people near your rank unless you have to wait a while.

Toxicity happens on both sides but it's part of competition. If you can't handle that, maybe go play Minecraft.

The game is hard for killers right now but I'm still winning at rank 1. I still lose at Rank1 as survivor.

    Good players still have fun.
