DC and snowball effect.
So last night I had a match as Ghostface. I found a Kate and Nea pretty much at the start of the match, both were sat on the same generator. I stalked both to about 99% and then got right behind them and stalked fully, insta-downing the Kate. She DC’d straight away and then the Nea just sat looking at me nodding and teabagging. She had clearly given up. This made me feel like I had to farm, because where is the fun in me downing and hooking a player that has clearly given up? So for the rest of the match I farmed with Nea and 2 Dwights.
I know farming is frowned upon, but I feel like you’re pretty much screwed in those situations. Because if the rest of the team just give up and die on their first hook, you lose BP and you’ll probably de-pip. It seemed like the only way for the match to play out fairly for both sides, was to farm. And, honestly I don’t blame the Nea for giving up. It’s so annoying to have a teammate DC a mere 30 seconds into a match because you’ve been downed. It completely casts a cloud over the rest of the match for me.
Do you guys do the same? Or would you have just killed them all and then found a new lobby?

If survivors clearly signal their unconditional surrender, I might farm with them if those particular individuals weren't toxic pieces of #########. It depends on my mood. Sometimes I just don't feel like farming and kill them all so we can move on to (hopefully) a better trial.

Oh, if they were being toxic, I would show no mercy. This was too early in the game for me to see what type of players they were. It’s just stupid that if I did choose to kill them all, I am being punished for somebody else disconnecting. I think if somebody DC’s from a match, you shouldn’t be able to de-pip.

Had that the other day. Playing Legion I hit a Nancy with the Frenzy charge, instant DC. Looked at the Claudette next to her, she DCed. The other two let me hit them so I farmed all 5 gens for the two that stayed, they wanted me to kill one but I let em go. DC's are sad when its the start of the map, you have no idea how the game is going to go and you already quit. There should be a 4x penalty for those who DC within the first few mins of a match. Just cause you got found first don't mean your games over. And before you complain oh but killers always tunnel. Yes they can but some good killers will refuse to tunnel someone. I know I do I always go for the one who just saved as hitting them twice is worth more blood points than instantly downing an injured target.

As for that last point, it would be abused.
SWF joins a match, they see its Spirit. Player 1 DCs (5 minute timeout) the team all gets their safety pips.
Match two the SWF team see its a map they don't like. Player 2 DCs (5 minute timeout) everyone keeps their pips.
I agree it sucks as a survivor to have this happen but often (if people actually try) a 1v3 match can be really fun. Much more difficult to escape but often full of fun chases/situations.
As for farming, if the killer seems to want to farm I'll do it/ as killer if the survivors seems to want to farm I'll do it. I'll never force either side into anything but rather just see what the majority wants.

Need retroactive goals based on disconnections (fewer generators to repair),
or bot replacing a disconnected player.

Yeah if someone dcs right at tge start like that ill let them farm, its not fun slaughtering a 3 man with 5 gens to do. I already won, they know it, I know it. Good enough

Only if I'm in a mood to do so. If I've lost the past survivor game due to Iri Head or something, I'll just end it ASAP and look for a satisfying win.

I kill them all and say “ggez”.
Just kidding.
at that point I go for whatever gets me the most points. If they are half way good I will play like normal though.
