What meta perks have you never seen the appeal of
For me its noed and resilience
Noed: i can usually end games before endgame so i never end up using it
Resilience: its only viable when used with spinechill since 9% dosent even help that much

I get the appeal of Adrenaline, but it's situational enough to me (it doesn't help at all until the end of the match) that I'd rather bank on other stuff.

I don't see an appeal to any of them since I am a filthy potato.
When I play Survivor, I play stealthy and pick perks that I always get put down for using.
When I play Killer, I just use whatever I feel like using. I do use NoEd a lot since I don't care to play any of the top Killers. I like Trapper and Hag the most and with how fast generators go, I kinda need it to buy a little more time in endgame.

I get why all of them have appeal. I just particularly like any of them.

I never understood Sprint Burst, I don't want to be walking around all game just so i can get a moderate advantage when the killer decides to chase me.

Borrowed Time. I find it to be ok, but I probably wouldn't run it on really any of my builds.

What perks do you get put down for using?
I play stealthy too, although I tend toward a pretty aggressive method of stealth and am not afraid to do gens behind the killer's back and whatnot.

NoeD and Decsive Strike
NoeD does help when it does get used, but I'd rather end the game with 4 perks before it than risking multiple survivors getting to the end game with 3 perks and get a 4th perk at the end.
As for Decisive, rarely does the killer go for me twice in a row, and even if they do, they usually slug me to make sure I don't have it.

Well, maybe Thrilling Tremors if Barbecue & Chili wasn't a thing.

Dead Hard for sure. When I play killer, I either A. Bait it out and just slap you after you use it.
B. Swing without baiting, realize you have have it and remember for future chases.
Dead Hard is simply not as effective as people make it out to be.

DS: If a killer is tunneling me off the hook stunning them once for 5 seconds isn't going to stop the tunneling. Don't see point of using it for random chance I'm hooked at end of match, rather just work on avoiding getting hooked at end game.
Ruin: Old/New either one can be worked around and is easily countered by destroying the totem. Rather a perk that can't be destroyed at start of match and will be useful the whole time.

I use Self Care, Plunderers, Urban Evasion and Spine Chill. I tried to switch out SC with Bond but I noticed that people would run the Killer to me more often when I did. Also, it was hard to rely on people to heal in Solo matches, since more often than not, my teammates are either too aggressive or to chicken and head for the hills.
I cannot loop well. I hit my peak after playing for more than 1000 hours and I have come to the realization that I am just not a great gamer. I have an issue with my left arm and hand that makes controlling my character and looking behind me at the same time very difficult so I opt to sneak around. Now, that doesn't mean I will sit in a bush the whole match. I will come out and take hits, body block or try to get the Killer off of someone who is on death hook. I will also try to get the Killer to chase me to the other side of the match during endgame so my team can finish the final gen and get out. I don't mind dying for competent teammates. Now, if my teammates are idiots or overly aggressive and unhook in front of the Killers face at the start of the match, I ascend to Divine Bushette.

Survivor: All of them. The meta is a bunch of free second chances. How is that fun? It's boring to play with and infuriating to play against because I did nothing to earn my Decisive escape or my Unbreakable recovery or my Adrenaline free win or my Borrowed Time invincibility or my Dead Hard mistake eraser or... you get the idea.
Killer: Sloppy Butcher. Healing is meaningless in the current meta and has been since the Spirit-Legion midchapter. When gen times are so short and the Survivor meta build lets you be completely capable of existing the entire match injured, healing is a waste of time. Not to mention that between We'll Make It, Inner Strength, and post-instaheal medkits, there are plenty of ways to heal so fast that you ignore Sloppy entirely. Antiheal builds are not good. The only Killer I would ever consider running Sloppy on is Oni for obvious reasons.

yeah as a solo survivor, i have no idea if my team will make it to end game or not. Making Adrenaline possibly worthless to me more often than not. I think something like prove thyself or anything else really, would help to ensure more blood points or at least make it so one or two more gens might get done, before everyone dies awfully.

I've only used Dead Hard a couple times, but when I did I saved it for the end game. So many times, the killer will be chasing me, I'll make it into the exit gate... and the killer will down me a couple feet from escaping and I'll die. I have taken Dead Hard with me a couple times just to use in that exact situation; the killer didn't know I had it 'cause I'd never used it, and I just DH'd my way to freedom.
Anyway, the meta perks I've never seen the appeal of are Corrupt Intervention (maybe if I played killers that needed set-up time more? I dunno) and Sprint Burst (I always waste it at stupid times and am then Exhausted when I actually need it).

PGTW. Never had a use for it, never saw the point of it. You can supplement regressing a Gen with other play styles.

While yes alot of survivors using the tunnling excuse when the killer didnt tunnel but sometimes it is legit tunnling

Dude, I am about to hit rank 3 survivor (mostly solo), and I seriously do all that stuff I was joking about in that other thread a few days ago -- I'll Dead Hard into walls, terminally mindgame myself with my own Hag traps, cannot reliably loop unless it's an easy double-window (or sooooooometimes shack), etc. There were multiple points where I was like "Welp, I have plateaued and will never get past green (or whatever) ranks." I have still improved with practice in spite of this, and I am no great gamer. DBD is the first game that I have really ever been at a "respectable" rank at. If I can do it, I think there is hope for anyone.
I would say re: your comment about Bond, it's not necessarily that people ran the killer to you more often, it's just that you saw it coming (which is an advantage of Bond -- it tells you when it's time to leave). I would ask "what rank are you?" but other players do stupid stuff like this even in red ranks. I will always recommend alternatives to Self-Care, but lots of people use it even at high ranks, too.

Adrenaline. It's too situational.
Sure it might give you a timely heal while slugged or a much needed Sprint burst mid chase. But you are just as likely to get randomly exhausted at full health while the killer is on the other side of the map. Not to mention it's an end game perk and I find perks you can use throughout the match more useful.

Survivor:
Adrenaline: I used it for some time, but I noticed that my Paladin like playstyle often gets me killed in the late game before the last gen pops. I also don't like having 3 perks for 90% of the game.
Deliverance: Every time I use it, I get hooked first.
Sprint Boost: I always tend to waste it and I hate to walk all the time.
Self Care: I stopped using this over a year ago. You just waste so much time. I rather use Iron Will and let my mates heal me at the hook.
Killer:
Noed: I used it when I was a noob killer, but now? Nah. Same reason as with Adrenaline.
Corrupt Intervention: Depends on the killer, but usually I never find someone for 2min when I use it XD.

Deadhard. Press E to dash? More like press E to die. Swear this damn thing fizzles more often than it works.

Gotta third (fourth?) Adrenalin. I realize how good it can be exactly once per game, but its so niche. I can think of many perks not considered meta I'd rather take.

Whispers. I'm not sure it is considered meta but some players out there seem to rate this perk highly and I just don't get why.

Whispers tells you where survivors are, and also where they aren't. It's especially great on slower-moving killers like Huntress, and it lets you get into the radius of a gen and confirm quickly that no one is there, rather than walking all the way to the gen. It's also great for patrolling gates after gens are done, as you can easily intuit which gate survivors are headed toward.

Exhaustion perks in general. Yes they help extend chases, yes something like Adrenaline is helpful once a match. But after the first time you use it, the killer, assuming they're not a total potato, knows you have it and will plan around it. Sprint burst? Don't heavy commit until you catch them between uses. Dead hard? Fake a hit or delay your swing. Lithe? Work angles and don't be afraid to abandon the chase in favor of someone else if you're coming up on a window. Adrenaline? Once a match and not all that great. I don't bother with them.

There is also times, when you get down and then simply end up down on the floor again, due to the killer standing right over your body, when it pops off.
Yeah ds, sometimes it does go off, due to team mates farming you and forgot unhooking in front of the killer without borrow time is not a good idea, which happens from time to time in solo survivor land. Other times it is due to legit tunneling. Sometimes the killer is just someone who has the ability to snowball greatly, when they play their cards just right and just picked up the wrong person first. Many different reasons as to why ds might go off, depending on the context of the match.

Problem is, that you can't do anything against those stupid mates. I rather have DS not used in some cases than getting farmed and "tunneled" because the killer was taking advantage of the bad play I have no control over.

DS I can’t bring myself to use, it just feels like a perk that helps survivors out of situations they should have lost in, I.E making a really bad play and going down cause of it

Whispers works well on ghostface, oh hey a survivor is with in range? Sweet, might be able to get some stalk off on them. For a nice one hit down.
Ghostface can quickly crouch and uncrouch to make it look like they are about to swing, to bait out dead hard during a chase. Which yeah Sprint burst, it normally easy to guess who has it. They will normally be the person walking around in plain slight, when the killer is nearby, rather than running to the hills.
Which yeah Adrenaline as a solo survivor, it like a coin flip. It might go off or you might all die long before the final gen is done. Since in solo, you might be part of a god tier team or you might be part of a rank 20 team or just boosted animals who have no idea what they are doing. So as a solo survivor, it might be better to take basically any other perk besides adrenaline, to help get a gen or two, maybe just a few extra blood points out of the match before you die.

The thing is I never felt the need of a perk to do any of that. Most survivors don't bother being particularly stealthy anyway and the exit gates are the least of my worries. I just think the cases where Whispers is genuinely usefull don't happen often enough to justify a perk slot.

Panic is a funny thing. But again, it's a single use. Once I know you have dead hard, it'll never work against me again.

For me it's Adrenaline for sure. I'd rather remain injured because then NOED doesn't scare me and I've got nothing to lose. I usually have Resilience and I'd rather keep the 9% speed boost, which is useful at opening the exit gates.
Also for me: spine chill. I understand why it's a popular perk, but I swear it makes people become worse because they rely on it too much.

It only works once in the open, but there is nothing you can do about it when used properly on a loop. You don't swing and they make the pallet, you do swing and they dead hard to the pallet. That's what makes it so strong and annoying.

i recently picked up Sprint Burst, wasnt always a big fan, but... I LOVE when killers swing and miss when SB goes off.
i have notice more tunneling when it happens though -_-

Yeah, my wife is like that. She prefers to play a more stealth-oriented playstyle because she's just not that good at looping (yet) and doesn't see the fun in second chance stuff.
And it feels like every damn game people are on her ass about, "Those aren't the right perks, you were useless, learn to play, nyaaaaaaaa!" because there's a fairly strict, accepted meta that survivors expect now and deviating from it is unacceptable.
She's still Rank 4, though, because she gets ######### done every game.
But yeah, the survivor meta now is for everyone to be invulnerable supermen, rush gens, and second chance out of the gates. If you don't fall into line with that, people get mad.

At rank 1 ds is unappealing because killers eat it and burp out human remains.
For killer pop because kicking gens requires me hump gens and not chase.

Dead by Dedicated Servers or Dead-Hard-into-the-box... Yeah.
I used it for about a year and depended on it, but now since it gets eaten all the time and killers have brains, I rather use Kindred now. So much information. More worth than a perk that doesn't work properly.

Every time I try using this perk, I either am found first or I can't get a safe unhook before I do get found.
I just find it annoying to use. Feels more clunky than Bubba.
