Yeah, I lost all respect for every and any Huntress main because she obviously gets carried by Hitboxes.

I've been told it's not their fault, but it's been months, and months since people have complained about her, lag, latency and hitboxes and I've seen more VPN users abusing her as well.

    She gets carried by hitboxes.

I don't know how would devs fix this. If hitboxes not going to be killer sided then Huntress will miss her hatchets even if it was clearly hit from her perspective. How to play Huntress then if her power wouldn't work? She will become F tier killer without her power with 40 meter lullaby and 110% speed.

I really sorry for all survivors that I hit before they hide. It was a completely normal hit from me but unfair for you. I wish devs open closer servers. I wish i had better connection but I can't. I really want to play with equal conditions. But there no fast inernet in my distant country and all I can do is play with yellow ping at best. What can you advice? Don't play huntress? Don't play dbd? Should I learn to shot hatchets 3 meters further than survivor is?

All I can do for now it's play as different killers and play Hunterss only for challenges.

Huntresses have to adjust their aim to hit those hits. If they hit the survivors nose it goes right through them.

When they add the new system to test the hit logic or whatever they called it, hopefully things will be better. I do want to say though it's not a Huntress exclusive problem. I can't tell you how many times I've vaulted through a window, started getting a running start, and had the killer just swipe at a window and I still get hit, whereas if I'm playing killer and swinging at a survivor that's mid-vault I still can't manage to hit them. I'm really getting tired of the bullshit hitboxes they have, but as I said it's not only Huntress. I see it from Huntress a lot, but I see it maybe about as much from Freddy, and I'm always suspecting that they're VPNing because for some reason it just seems especially bad when playing against Freddy. A lot of Freddies I play against will just swing way behind me and still manage to get hits, and I'm talking like swinging through a pallet while I'm already running away from it, and still getting hit.

It's just something that has to be toughed out until they fix it and make it better. I just want it to be so that if I get hit through a window as survivor, I can hit somebody in the exact same situation as killer, but it just won't ever work for me. It's bullshit. Until then, just gotta start bringing a mori and just taking survivors out the game early if they keep living when they shouldn't. I usually like to give everybody a chance to play, regardless of if I feel like they're being sweaty or SWF or whatever, but when I have to go against all the second chance perks, plus people trying to act obnoxious by teabagging/clicking flashlights or whatever, plus being robbed of hits over and over, I don't see why I shouldn't be able to also cheese my way through some kills. I just recommend you start doing the same until they make the change to hit detection. I'm not even talking just bring a mori and mori everybody off first hook, but bringing a mori just as "insurance" seems more and more necessary with each hit I'm robbed of, or each time I get hit as survivor when I clearly shouldn't have.

I mainly play on PS4 and there's been a few times I've had questionable hits but not enough to complain about. Got DBD on PC for PTB, played few regular rounds just to see difference in play. Had a Huntress and saw the ridiculous through the wall hits people are always talking about. I thought people were overreacting because on PS4 it's no where near as bad as PC. It's those hits that concern me with cross play because I don't want the PC issues coming to console.

This post completely takes away credit from skilled huntress players. Sure, there are times where they might get a lucky hit from a generous hit box, but most huntress mains worth their salt could hit you with a smaller hitbox if they wanted.

Definitely not just a huntress thing you’re right, the ranged killers suffer/benefit the most. I’ve had plague spray a crazy wobbly stream all over and miss me, I’ve hit with plague seen the survivor cough and then no infection.

Even against Wraith I’ve dropped a pallet, turned and started to run, took the hit and saw the wraith on my side of the pallet... hmmm

They should fix hitboxes in general. Survivor hitbox needs be accurate to their character model, not like this crap:

Hitbox bugs for killer and survivor need to be fixed. powers that do damage are inconsistent, especially Huntress and Deathslinger.

I dont want you guys to turn this into killer vs survivor thing, i wanted fixed for the better overall game health.

    Except there aren't smaller hitboxes.

There hasn't been a smaller hitbox in months, so your post is completely invalid.

I've been getting hit from 3-6 feet away from my actual body, how is that fair? How is that skill?

    Friendly reminder:

Hits are going to be server-sided soon!

I was playing as huntress and when I threw the hatchet, it stabbed the survivor from a few cm away. It could've been a glitch idk.

Same goes for the other side when grabs, hatchet hits with blood splatter, aim dressing etc doesn't register survivors getting hit etc, none of those are fair either. Both sides have their problems with servers and hopefully upcoming updates to servers will help with all of these.

Here's an explanation from Peanits about huntress hatchet hitboxes:

That second one was definitely in range. The window does not make you safe.

Regarding hatchet hitboxes: They were changed to not be spherical a while back, but the change needed to be reverted (as others have mentioned in the thread). I'll have to bust out my amazing drawing skills. This is what the hitboxes look like:

The survivor has a "capsule" shaped box around them. This determines where they can run and whether or not the killer can hit them. This hitbox does not change, the only exception is that it's a little shorter when you crouch. If it did change, it would cause all sorts of issues in a chase. You would be bumping into stuff constantly.

The hatchets, on the right, have a spherical hitbox.

    Why?

When a survivor is injured, they're slouched over as they run. In the example above, you can see what that's important. The hitbox of the hatchet overlaps with the hitbox of the survivor, so the hatchet hits.

Now if you were to make it more closely match the size of the hatchet, you'd end up with this:

In spite of the hatchet going right through the survivor (visually), it does not touch the survivor's hitbox, and so the hatchet would miss. We have tried this change and the past, but it was reverted because it caused a lot of issues like this.

To go back to the first hit, this is the scenario that played out:

This is what the killer sees. It looks a little weird because of the survivor's animation, but the hitboxes overlapped. But then you need to factor in latency:

This is what the survivor sees (with what the killer sees faded out). Latency sucks, you can't really get rid of it. It's a fact of life with online games. There's always going to be a slight discrepancy in online games. Since the hit is currently handled on the killer's end, even 100 ping can make a difference. (Survivor running at 4m/s x 0.1 = 40cm difference between what the killer sees and what the survivor sees.)

The ultra short version: Hatchet hitboxes can't change unless the survivor hitboxes are completely reworked, but latency is also in play.

Lol you didn't say one thing that made my point invalid. I'll say again, give huntress players their fair share of credit for hitting you and chalk up the strange hits to bad luck and the limitations of the game in terms of hit boxes.

People need to understand that if hit boxes were smaller it would be very hard to land shots due to map design.

While I understand it can be frustrating, I think it's for the best to leave Huntress as is.

Besides, Huntress is not a free win killer. There is a lot of skill involved.

I want you to VPN to Norway right now and hide your profile.

Because I've had killers from China, Japan, Norway, Germany and Sweden, mostly all Huntress players.

And I Live in LA, they have no business here as my killer.

Being hit behind a wall is fair huh? On 60 ms,nonetheless aswell. It isn't just on bad latency,I remember alot of times where i was already around a corner and got hit. Happens quite often, actually. And when I say on normal latency, both me and killer had decent ping. It's just the shape of the hatchet hitbox, which is a sphere. I don't think it really makes alot of logic, but we have to deal with it I guess.
