First impressions of the game
Hi there
I recently bought this game after playing it on a free weekend long time ago. My main objective was to have fun playing Freddy Krueger.
But its really frustrating for a new player to play as a Killer. I remember having my share of fun back then, but now its just impossible. I don't know if it's a matter of perks, but all i face its high level players with all the ability slots unlocked.
I only started having fun when i played it as survival. I only lost one game out of six, in every game everybody survived. For a new player this game feels really unbalanced. Maybe in higher ranks and ppl who all the dlc's may be different. But for people just starting the game its really a frustrating experience to play as the killer. Not fun at all.

The matchmaking has always been terrible. It's going to be updated sometime in the future and that will supposedly improve things.

Killer is the more frustrating role when you're starting out, and again at high ranks. No arguments there. We've discussed frequently on these forums how bad the new player experience tends to be (long queue times and unbalanced matchmaking, as well as a majorly daunting grind)...unfortunately, the main thing I can say is I hope you keep trying. Play survivor while you level killers if you're having more fun playing survivor for now - your bloodpoints can be spent on anyone, not just what character you played to earn them.
I'm happy to chat about any specific questions you may have as well about killer (I'm no top tier streamer killer player, but I certainly consider myself a better killer than survivor, despite being red ranks for both). Feel free to shoot me a message, respond here, or friend me on steam (removed as they added me) if you play on PC.

Matchmaking is really bad currently
Its (hopefully) going to be fixed in the next month

As others have said, the matchmaking is pretty bad.
The biggest issue - as I've seen it - is that if a group of top-ranked survivors queue with a low rank person in their lobby, there's a good chance they'll get matched with a very low ranked killer.
It's often completely intentional, there are some nights when I see literally nothing but this type of group over and over.

Losing one game out of 6 as a new player? Are you ranked with high rank survivors or something? I used to be with fellow rank 20's and die every single game, you're lucky.
On your killer side of things, yes, the matchmaking is messed up, you'll face those survivors a LOT. It will be really tough for you to play killer and enjoy a match. I'd wait on their new matchmaking to come out, unless you still want to play killer, then you'll have to prepare for these teams.

if you want some good teaching watch some streamers on twitch who are playing only killers. They will teach you a LOOOOOOOOOT ! you can even watch some youtube videos how to mindgame, prevent loops, divert path so survivor wil go where you want etc etc
if you want to play killers buy canibal for bbq it will give you double bp every match and will help you really highly for finding people
killers here could give you literally hundreds of tips or advices you ust have to ask.. but simplest and easiest is just watch some good killer main on twitch and in a month you wil be much better killer

I would recommend you play Survivor until you reach red ranks and get a good grasp of the game. That way, when you play Killer, you’d be more privy to how your opponents operate. You should also play Survivor to grind Blood Points and use them to level Freddy Up and unlock perks.
The thing that sucks with this game is that you have to level up so many characters just to unlock their perks for each other. You then have to spend more points on the Blood Web to access it, which takes forever.
Finally, go watch some Killer gameplay on YouTube. I recommend notOtzdarva. He’s enjoyable to watch and explains decently enough.

yeah otzdarva is really skilled player - there are even more on twithch on youtbue, but for example he has really really good videos for explanation all killers, perks etc, basically he will save you ton of hours.. but once again just go to twitch and watch some killers to play :)

The new player experience is garbage, needing a wiki or youtube guides means you have failed to teach your players how your game works and only leads to frustration on there part since the game is shown to look more like a hide and seek when in reality it's just hold m1 on a gen, running around in circles till you press the button to drop the pallet or hop a window.
