GET RID OF DISCONNECT PUNISHMENT!
Title says it all. It really has done nothing good for anyone. People still disconnect and take the fat L and those of us who get screwed with poor internet connection are forcefully kicked off multiple times and get punished by these wait times and no points for external factors outside of our control.

Sorry to say that, but if your connection is that poor that it can be expected that you will crash out, you should not play Onlinegames.
The other 4 players dont care if you DC because you are ragequitting or if you DC because your internet is not good enough.

I’m not intentionally disconnecting. Furthermore this has been an issue many people have had on multiple platforms. It isn’t just on one.

You are saying that you are screwed with bad internet connection. So the problem is entirely on you if it is YOUR connection which lets you DC.

I've seen a massive decrease in people DCing. So I respectfully disagree with you to the fullest. If people want to DC they should get punished. The few times I've randomly been kicked from the game I had no DC penalty either.
Even when I had terrible terrible internet before I moved I barely DC'ed and was sometimes getting 2mbs to 10 mbs.

Thats not our problem. If you have bad Wifi, stop playing. DC penalties are great.

Yes some will still DC but that has dropped dramatically according to the dev streams.
They stated the figure is around 50% less DC's than before its implementation so it is doing what its intended too.

@Aven_Fallen has already said all that needs to be said here.

It’s not just a me problem. I’ve read many forums here and on other places where many people companied of this. And I’m unsure if y’all should be taking your research from the def streamers considering they also told us we’d get better matchmaking this year.

Furthermore from what it sounds like is that it may be working for PC. But it’s not working that well for others of different platforms. I’m saying they either need to trash it, or revise it so people don’t get screwed by it.

Ok let me try to do this right. I won’t hit you with doc carter cause I’m trying to be real here. My advice is forget the dc penalty. And look for better internet. Cause you think the dc ban is bad wait till hits change from killer to server.
it will be unplayable for you when that change goes live just saying

Pretty much this. If your connection isn't reliable, you shouldn't be playing.

My internet is shockingly bad yet somehow can hold a stable enough connection, even if it is as 600 ping depsite being connected to close servers (i think, the players in my lobby were also british & I solo q so thats my guess). The DC penalty has vasly improved my matches and the only time it's really affected me is when I've been kicked because EAC doesn't like shiny RGB colours on peripherals. That's happened once since DC penalties were introduced. Once. The other times I've DCed were because I was frustrated and they fulfilled their job of making me stop playing, calm down, marry Shane in Stardew Valley- you know, the usual.
According to the dev QnA From Home Stream (not the one coming up, the most recent one) that me and @Fibijean both did a summary of, DC penalties have dropped by between 35% and 50% whilst hook suicide rates have remained relatively unaffected.
These penalties do their job. They should remain.
In the system requirements on Steam it says a "Broadband Internet Connection" is required. Source:
If you can't meet the minimum requirements, either don't play, or don't complain when things don't work.

Also to address your point here- they said in their most recent Anniversary Stream (also check out Fibi's summary of that one too; don't want to double ping someone) that it would be coming, in their words, "next month". This was said in May. Therefore we can infer it's coming this month, June, the month after May. Considering how we're not even half way through the year, they have plenty of time to add in the new system while following the guidelines of "this year">
