Second Wind is good you can't tell me it's not
I have heard about an old issue where it doesn't work if you use a medkit, but I've never seen this issue.
I went from grey ranks to red over this last month soloing and playing mostly casually (it's too easy to rank up as surv, but that isn't the point).
Is it a great perk to run with every build? No. And that's how it should be. I run it with inner strength, borrowed time, and we'll make it. It's about the most altruistic build you can have while also being selfish. You can be doing anything during that 30 seconds it takes to get healed. When the killer needs to be putting pressure somewhere, you can speed the game up. It's a health state you don't need to spend time on when you really need it. Same idea as inner strength, spend time now when you don't need it, save time later when you do.
I get at least one use of it 90-95% of the games I'm in, most of that is both uses. 30 seconds really might not seem like much, but it is. Nobody needs to spend time healing me, that means both of us can get a gen down in ~the time it takes to for me to heal. It also means I can save inner strength for when I'll need it again later.
We'll make it almost guarantees I'll get the perk charged up after a save, and if it doesn't, BT is there to help the team. It's hard for the killer to keep pressure up after I unhook, unless they're already well into another chase.
Yes, this perk is countered by someone tunneling off hook. Yes, you'll get less use out of this perk if your chased first and aren't a good looper. Yes, you can't be there for every unhook.
Great perk. Not for everyone.

I can tell you it not good. You might not agree. But I can certainly tell you that. But in all seriousness it's too inconsistent for alot of people's taste. It's not that the concept is bad. But alot of times you just can't get it to come off.

I like it a lot. Probably just as much as I like Aftercare and Distortion.

Honestly the whole having to full heal someone and be hooked requirement always seemed questionable to me. I can why the we'll make it would be pretty much mandatory. Still has the problem of being less useful if you are found first, it's atleast only halved instead of fully shut down like deliverance but the effect is no where near as strong as is. Considering you can only get hooked twice it really should have just activated automatically

Garbage. Utter trash.

The only things I don't like are 1) you need to do a full solo heal, so if someone else helps you get screwed out of SW, and 2) if you get downed while Broken you lose SW entirely. I think it should just reset, you keep the charge of SW it just won't trigger until the next time you are pulled from a hook. Just a bit dumb to require someone to get another heal if they go down while Broken. Like I understand making it not heal you anymore, that makes sense, but damn it sometimes it's hard to get that one full solo heal to get it charged.
Otherwise yes I agree, it's not actually that bad of a perk.

If you are altruistic then it's a good perk. If you are not altruistic then you shouldn't be running perks that synergize with altruism.

If you have it activated at least once for 90% of the time, it is worth it to use, I had a different experience with more like 40-50%
I also noticed in general that people in general play super altruistic (for example I struggle to finish unhook challenges and dailies, need to run Empathy and follow the chase or swarm the hook like a camper noob), that's why I focus on gen when possible. So I don't get it activated on time before I get hooked. Therefore not really my playstyle because I like to see gen progress from time to time.
Yes, as this perk is pretty weak (maximum of 2 triggers and only a health state) I think it could at least save the progress. I would even say it should do more like Adrenaline, like wake up or cure other status effects. Maybe even go to full health, so a BT save against camping killers heals you completely. How is it working right now? I think it would only heal the mend if at all, right? Does SW deactivate after a hit with Endurance?

It's definitely super underrated. The feeling of getting it to proc while the killer is trying to tunnel you after getting unhooked is amazing lol

Most underrated perk alongside camaraderie. Slap on Second wind and we'll make it with an exhaustion + iron will and you have an amazing perk build.

Camraderie? Or you mean Off The Record? What value has Camraderie?

You don't need to solo heal, just start the healing first. Someone can assist you at any point in the healing. This is usually not an issue if you get to the hook first, which I usually do. We'll make it makes it speedy, too.

No I meant camaraderie, it's godlike against camping killers and great against killers trying to secure a quick kill at any point in the match. I should mention it is 100x better in a SWF than solo. In solo yea its pretty bad unless you can get it to work.

I mean it just saves/wastes 34 seconds of time and requires 2 survivors doing nothing near a hook. You can waste that killer time with almost any other perk and survivors waste almost more time if they "want to get value" from that perk

It’s a little too unpredictable for my liking. If someone comes by and helps you heal the survivor, it won’t count towards activating your perk. A bit unreliable that way. 30 seconds is also a little long to wait for healing up. Just my opinion.

Second wind is not good.
Hmm. That was easy... I thought you said that I could not tell you this. Everyone's a liar and a con.
I only see Second Wind working on my healer build (Empathy, Autodidact, Solidarity, Spine Chill), but if I were to replace any of these 4, Aftercare would have priority over Second Wind

This "scenario" sounds pretty much like a success rate equal to solo sabo or solo Breakout+MoM
Can be fun, strong when it works, mostly not worth the effort
