Anyone else get tormented when not standing on the trail?

I was on the map wretched shop in the main building and there was a trail inside blocking the window on the right. I walked in and started working on the generator. I was on the front side of the generator with my back facing the outside entrance. I did the generator from 0 to about 70ish percent when all of a sudden I get tormented for no reason haha I didn't get off the gen or move at all. Anyone else experience this?
