How is Plague to play?

As a survivor main, I don’t have a lot of experience with killers. The exception to this is Michael, as I played him for a while and got down to about rank 8 then stopped.

I want to try out another killer & I’m interested in playing as the Plague, but before I make the decision to get her I was wondering if you guys have any input? Strengths / weaknesses with her? I don’t go against her often as survivor either.

I just don't know what to tell you, other than her 1 Fountain buff she's been ignored.

She's in need of buffs though.

She's really not XD. If played correctly, she can be devastating to a team.

Plague is a very good killer with at least two meta teachable perks, Infectious Fright and Corrupt Intervention. Many players also enjoy her third perk, Dark Devotion.

Yeah, if she's played correctly. So why does she need a buff then, if you agree that she is devastating when played correctly?

I can't really speak to her effectiveness but what I can say from playing her is that she feels pretty ass on dedicated servers. I can't tell you how many times (and Plague isn't even one of my more played killers) where I would go in for a puke and hit the survivor, see them wave their arms around and yelp, and still not be infected.

That's the case for all killers though. I can abuse a bad Huntress, but if she's played correctly, I'll get crushed in seconds.

Because she's not played correctly, she's high risk hardly any reward.

The reward comes when survivors cleanse, and you'll get little to no survivor cleansing because they know not to.

Ranks 12 through 20 are going to cleanse. Purple and Red ranks know not to. So your Power is completely stripped from you because they're not cleansing.

She needs buffs, and that's my opinion. No need to make this a whole thing.

Infectious Fright Plague seems to be absolutely devastating. Haven't played her as a killer but as a survivor, holy moly I've been steamrolled so badly.

Underrated killer imo. You either cleanse and give her a ranged attack, or stay sick and have an Insta down. Two issues, not many blood points and so very difficult to get a pip. 4k brutal is common with her.

IMO, the only reason one should get Plague is because of her amazing perks Infectious Fright and Corrupt Intervention. However, in terms of viability, Plague is alright. Once survivors become infected by her Vile Purge they have the choice to either cleanse or remain injured with the broken status effect. Cleansing will give the Plague access to Corrupt Purge which is an easy-to-use and amazing ranged attack. Knowing this, experienced survivors won't cleanse which can be both good and bad. Its good because that means they'll be left injured and down with a standard attack. Its bad because you won't get the godly corrupt purge.

I've played her as Rank 1 quite a bunch, I'm no expert, and the minimum I get is 2k using only her 3 perks. She's not bad, she negates healing entirely which is something you can base your builds off of. IF Survivors cleanse at those ranks, you get Corrupt which is just awesome sauce. If not, then you only have to 1-hit survivors and you always know where they are at, with or without Iron Will. Very hard too get merciless on when wanting to use her power. And BP gain on her, especially Deviousness, is hard if you care about max points.

Strengths: She has insane snowball potential with corrupt purge, decent stall potential with vile purge, and can hit multiple targets at range via corrupt purge. She has easy tracking when in auditory range of players afflicted by sickness. Her sickness is a direct counter to iron will. If players refuse to cleanse, she has insta-downs. .

Weaknesses: She is countered by line of sight. If she's getting looped correctly, it's extremely hard for her to break a survivor with vile purge, and thus she turns into a M1 killer at times. Fountains locations aren't always convenient if the survivors are smart about where they cleanse.

I don't understand your reasoning. You say she's not played correctly? By anyone? So she needs a buff because no one knows how to play her?

Bloody complicated. You have a lot to balance, a lot of skills you need to practice, and a lot of decisions are controlled by survivors. Feels like constantly walking a tightrope.

I played with her and think she is definitely strong. She can slow the game early when using Corrupt Intervention and infecting generators. Broken survivors are easy to find and coughing negates Iron Will. Obviously broken survivors have 1 health state and you can pressure survivors hard when everyone is broken and someone is on the hook because its very risky for them to go for a save. Sometimes it forces them to cleanse(Unless they are that kind of survivors who still think they should never cleanse under any circumstances and prefer to die instead). You can snowball from Corrupt Purge very easy especially with Infectious Fright. You have one pool of Corrupt at the start and if you use it in the right moment you can immediately turn the match in your favor(though sometimes you can get unlucky with location of it). You can bring Black Incense for fun and see how not cleansing work for survivors lol.

Shes fun occasionely but long term pretty frustrating. But her perks are great.

Infectious fright plague gives them a reason to cleanse I managed to get to mid ranks and had the upper ranks cleanse against me then again I did get a bit greedy and ended up with a 1k or 0k but she can be pretty fun. Never really play as her though, better at wraith, demo, doc, and huntress.

Every time I've played her it was miserable.

I see this argument a lot, but I don't buy it. You always start with one corrupt pool, and with apples you can bring that up to as many as four even if survivors don't cleanse. If they don't cleanse they're sitting ducks because they're spending the whole game broken. If they do cleanse, you get more corrupt purge. Either way she will get to use her power.

I maintain that the best strategy for survivors is not to never cleanse, but to be tactical about when and where to cleanse. I think it's perfectly fine to cleanse in locations that are far away from any remaining gens or exit gates. If Plague wants her corrupt she can have it, but she'll have to give up all map pressure for quite a bit of time to get it. Good Plagues will realize it's probably not worth the wasted time to go get it.

I enjoy her because my aim isn't great, but you don't really need good aim with her Vile and Corrupt Purges. You can just sort of wave back and forth at the right upward angle and probably hit someone. Her voice? I love it. Aesthetic? Amazing. Sounds from hits and ingesting corruption? Incredible.

She definitely takes some getting used to, but I find that I regularly 2-3K with her (though I'm in lower ranks, so not sure how it is in uppers). Her power is fairly dependent on survivors cleansing, so if they don't, you might only have the one default pool. Like other people have mentioned, she's very hard to get points and pip up with, so I wouldn't use her as a ranking-up means.

Corrupt and Infectious are great perks, though, so I'd definitely go for those. Overall, I think she's enjoyable to play, so long as you're not actually worried about BP and rank!

Not a main but when I do the occasional Plague play it generally becomes one of 2 matches.

People don't cleanse and you are just an m1 killer, this is where gens pop the fastest and if the group is competent enough you lose. Best way to win here is to find the weak link, who can't loop, and kill him.

On the other hand while I rarely see people cleanse early game all it takes is 1 survivor mid game to cleanse and then like dominoes everyone starts to cleanse as no one wants to be broken in a Chase with a vile Plague. The smart ones will try to cleanse in really far away pools but if you are good with your aim you can really snowball.
