A few days has passed, what do you think about Executioner's strength ?
Personally I don't think he's great.
His cages are only situationally usefull, since he sends the survivor as far away from him as possible, most of the time there are survivors around the cage, since they tend to stay away from the killer (duh), which makes it so oftentimes the rescue happens almost immediately, eliminating the whole pressure you'd normally get from a hook. It is nice that he can ignore perks like DS, but again ... It's situational.
His finisher is a nice time-saver, but ultimately isn't that important.
His main power is obviously the ranged attack, which is really good in theory, as it can punish vaults and pallet drops, but isn't too usefull for much besides that as it's slow and telegraphed, making using it while looping rather hard. When you take into account his enormous cooldown after missing, it really is a risk that's not worth taking most of the time.
How do you feel about the 2nd Shape ?

IMO, he's not great. He's good sure, but not great. His power is easily avoided which negates a large part of him. But, even if you do manage to torment someone, the cage seems more punishment to him, than the survivors. The cage is always guaranteed to spawn oppisite PH at the other end of the map, where you can guarantee a Survivor is nearby, which in turn offers zero pressure. His Instant mori is extremely handy but again, extremely situational. His ranged attack can be good at a pallet, but he suffers harshly for using it, allowing a survivor to easily gain ground and escape. Overall, he is a fun killer, but not one that can be said to be strong.

Pretty fun to go against and hard to play as. The one thing that annoys me is that I can't activate BBQ with the cages :(

He's outplayed by just running in straight line. None of his power can counter that.

Great insidious basement camper. Good at threatening against unsafe unhooks, seems to be his primary strength as far as strengths goes. None too special outside of his ability to punish altruism.

He's definitely not overly strong against survivors that do gens effectively instead of hiding, totems, chests, healing etc.
I've been playing him non-stop since his release and despite good zoning, faking the ability and getting good hits through walls I lost against survivors that I usually kill at 5 gens as Bubba (I recognized some teams by their names).
Negatives:
- no instadown
- no mobility
- no gen defense
- huge penalty for missing shots that merely injure/down survivors (if they don't react quick enough or just dead hard through the attack that is)
- no stealth
Pro:
- can POTENTIALLY end chases quickly and cage-tunnel survivors IF they step in the barbwire AND don't get insta-saved on the other side of the map.

Right now I'd say he's mid-tier. Not bad, not great. That may change.

A-tier. Those complaining about how easily his ranged attack can ne dodged haven't realized that it's a zoning tool with minimal counterplay. His cages are also powetful when used after the first hook.
Once the meta will stabilize, he's gonna be one of the common killers in the red ranks.

Honestly, that's also the counterplay to Deathslinger and you could also argue it is the optimal strat against Oni. I do not like where the devs are going with the newer killers and maps. Oni's map was great, 'Slinger and PH got crappy maps that are unfun for both sides.

Also I think he's pretty good.

Thanks for the in-depth and well-reasoned answer. I'll be sure to keep your feedback in its rightful consideration.

He's better than ghost face, but not better than hillbilly. No insta down, no mobility. Good power for zoning and avoiding bt and ds, but why care about that when you can one tap as long as you find survivors. If this game didn't have what top tier killers have he would be top tier, but now he is high B low a at best.

I’ve been playing him non stop since his release, and he’s easily one of the most fun killers in the game. He’s strong in just about every aspect, minus the most important one, which is map control. He can get destroyed in terms of gens against a good team no matter how fast he downs them. His biggest upside is how easily he can get people out of the game though, even though in some matches that means kind of playing like a scumbag.

He's a fun Killer without mobility or an instadown that has some cool gimmicks (free Mori and ability to deny unhook perks).
He's not bad by any means, but he's not usually going to win against skilled people who just split up and do gens.
IMO he's basically the same as Deathslinger; M1 Killer with strong chase power.

Not sure. I would say he's not top tier, but also not bottom tier.

Easy to play, difficult to master.
His ranged attack requires robot like aim in some cases

Boring to play against
