Have you been doing better with Clown after the small buff?

Agreed.

Yes.
He feels less perk and addon reliant now. His cooldown addons and STBFL felt needed before the change.

No.
Not necessarily.
Even if people are seeing improved results, improved doesn't mean that's he's in a good and viable position balance wise it just means he's better than he was before, which is a very wide spectrum and a very low bar to clear.
I'm certainly not doing any worse, that's for sure and that's a good thing, gameplay does feel a lot more smooth than it was previously, but the change that went through does not do anything to solve or even influence many if any of the major issues that he suffered from previously.
- His gameplay is still very one-dimensional, it's not as interesting or as unique as I think it could be if they introduced a secondary ability into his base kit or refined and improved the effects of the afterpiece tonic itself.
- There's hardly any unique strategy or plays you can pull off outside of something like throwing bottles high in the air to collide with a tree or building so that the gas spreads below.
- Unlike a killer like Pyramid Head who has a powerful chase tool, but also has extra utility that can be used to a certain amount of strategic effect, such as map zoning and map awareness with Rites of Judgement, as well as the cage itself which can also be used strategically to displace survivors or incapacitate multiple of them in different places all at once

- He lacks completely and utterly in areas of Map Pressure, Map Mobility, and Tracking which are definitely a lot of weak points to cover. As short as this bullet-point is, it is singlehandedly the biggest and most influential reason for why he is as weak as he is.
- Reloading is still an absolute killer and a huge detriment to your own chases, feeling just as slow and clunky as it did before. If your bottles aren't providing the desired effect of ending chases more quickly with the base 4 capacity, you have to stop and reload and the slow is massive and really hurts your chases, forcing you to lose a lot of ground and making it more difficult to maintain that chase.
- This also results in making add-ons like fingerless parade gloves, thick cork stopper, sticky soda bottle, and cheap gin bottle, add-ons which increase reload speed and bottle base capacity, a priority / must-have to use and run over anything else you might like to try and use like increasing area of effect, intoxicated duration, blurred vision duration, or my personal favorite: Exhaustion status effect (Solvent Jug)
And it sucks because this small change is starting to get people to shift focus to the next thing when ALL of these issues he still suffers from are yet to be addressed. It was a good change don't get me wrong, it's a start, but it certainly isn't where the devs should stop- Clown needs and deserves a lot more than just that. Especially before all the devs and community members start to shift focus and tackle other killers like Legion, Leatherface, Pig, Plague, etc.
Don't half-ass these buffs and reworks is all I'm saying. Do Clown a solid, give him some proper changes that make him good and viable and THEN we can move on, safe with the knowledge that significant change has been made.

Yes.
It's not a small buff it's a MASSIVE BUFF,
but he still is the worst killer in the game because he only gets a pallet down where the huntress/deathslinger would get a hit.
