"a map-manipulation Killer"

"The Executioner is a map-manipulation Killer, able to torment Survivors with the hazards he creates. Affected Survivors will be vulnerable to his special Hook, the Cage of Atonement and his special mori, Final Judgement.

His personal Perks, Forced Penance, Trail of Torment, and Deathbound allow him to aggressively defend his prey while deceiving and tracking survivors."

"a map-manipulation Killer" sounds pretty damn cool on paper, but once you get down to the nuts-and bolts of it, what does Pyramid Head really accomplish with his trails? Create a no-no zone? I'd say not really.

For one the Torment debuff doesn't do much for like 90% of the game besides give you an oversized, crappier UI (seriously, I 100% thought the jpeg razor blade vines were just a placeholder on PTB. Razor blades don't even hold much relevancy to the Silent Hill series if at all).

Cages are useless / detrimental to PH unless you see another survivor or objective that REALLY needs your immediate attention at the time of the downing OR if you're playing like a scumbag and just want to tunnel the hell out of someone from across the map.

The Trails also have a secondary purpose; tracking with Killer Instinct. If the survivor is close range and in a chase then it doesn't really matter, you probably have a really good idea of where they are. If they're not close to the killer and they're already tormented then it also does not matter. Why? Because Pyramid Head has no mobility tools to capitalize on the information. Furthermore, the Trails can be completely avoided by crouching.

It would have been nice if BHVR spent a bit more time thinking about the Trail. I'd have much rather seen a fully fleshed out Torment system, even if it meant PH didn't get his ranged attack (which he never uses in Silent Hill 2 anyways; he's a slow, melee-range but powerful enemy). The best I can ask for now is adding an additional affect to torment trails (please, not another slow. Don't need more Clown / Freddy-like gameplay) or to make the cages themselves applicable in more situations rather than sending the survivor across the map and into the arms of their teammates.

PS: Allow hook perks to work on Cages. Neither side are happy with the current state of cages; Killers lose out on BBQ stacks / Pop-goes-the-Weasel procs / possible niche Make Your Choice or Devour Hope builds while Survivors lose their cuddly safety blanket of DS / BT / We'll Make It. The cages are already called a "special Hook" in your very own description of them anyways.

If you couldn't crouch over the trails he would seem more like a map manipulation killer. Also his ranged attack should really apply torment too, with these 2 changes and maybe a torment decay of something like 3 min he would definitely be a lot more viable
