I think it's pretty fair. Most people play maybe one survivor. A lot of people play multiple killers. I just wish the crown cosmetic (It looks like a halo?) were cooler. I wouldn't mind if they did change it so survivors just have to collect it, but I think the idea is to mostly encourage normal play instead of having people go into a match, grab a crown, then suicide on first hook.

As killer, I try to lead survivors to the crowns and let them go.
As survivor, if I glow, then I die. The tunneling today is ridiculous!

yeah some people are really clueless or just are toxic by nature. If its bothering you you can always play the game normally, or just kill those specific survivors. I've been having no problems so far, people seem pretty chill right now.
Also keep in mind some people don't care about the event and just want to play normally.

There is a login bonus, you just aren't notified. Also I've had more issues with licensed characters taking crowns that they can't use compared to Killers tunneling and doing Moris

ive been escaping 6 times in a row with crowns by using left behind and keys i suggest you trying it your winning rate will increase massively.

Yes again, there are dicks on BOTH sides. Both. There are also killers who would purposely try to prevent people from working on special gens in past events. Tunnel and mori anyone with lanterns and #########. Or even this event, where OP states that killers seem to be tryharding like whoa, bringing every nasty thing in their box of tricks, not because they want to play normally and don't care about the event, but are seemingly doing this BECAUSE of the event. Then they're being dicks. They're just trying to prevent people from having a fun time, and that's not cool.
Btw, those people who would go around sabo-ing event hooks just because they could? Know what I think of them? They were grade-A 100% dicks. They were just trying to make people mad or ruin someone's day. Which is a horrible thing to do during a time that's supposed to bring people together.

Unfortunately we'd just have ppl completely ignore doing gens altogether to farm the crown and then suicide. Thats what happened with 2018s Blight event and what the devs have been trying to avoid ever sense.

Do you guys remember the Halloween event 2018?
Survivors were collecting the "nectar" at the beginning of the match, then run to the killer, get themselves hooked and killed themselves to go to the next match as fast as possible, and repeat the same thing all over again.
We didn't have normal matches. It was horrible. If survivors now kept their crown no matter the outcome of the match, we would be dealing with the same nonsense as in 2018.

I love it, I can mori people and steal their crowns. It’s already difficult getting a crown when there’s 4 survivors vs 1 killer. I think it’s fair.

I've been here for 4 years and survivors are much, much more toxic than killers. So sure, there are dicks on both sides, but you're equating 5% of killers who intentionally go out of their way to ruin survivors' trials to something like 30% of survivors who do the same. It's not proportional in the slightest and to dismiss that fact as "there are dicks on both sides" is insulting.

Another way of doing it to avoid this is:
You earn a full halo if you escape with the crown but you only earn 1/6th-1/9th(Or 1/12th if its abused) of a halo per death while crowned.
So them trying to win would result in them getting their crown at a MUCH faster rate then letting themselves die.
Yep same here and they tried to argue I was perventing them from doing so when i stopped attacking the moment i got 4BBQ stacks and make a circle of hag traps to stand in for nearly the rest of the game as they did gens(I'd post the after game chat but what offensive things they said to me aren't allowed to be shown on the forums and yes I reported them for it).
When the gens were fully powered I just went to opened the exit gate in front of them and went back to my circle.

You cant even steal their crown it doesnt drop from them it just evaporates with their body. Only 1 pedistal is on the map at amytime when someone takes it, it moves elsewhere.

@Warcrafter4 Your suggestion (giving the surv 1/6 or whatever % of the crown when they die) could work. But I bet it would not stop the complaints.

Then the numbers could be changed to 1/9, 1/12... like @Warcrafter4 suggested.
As I said, I don't think there is a perfect way to do this.
Even passively earning an event currency by just spending time in trials (so there would be no incentive to kill oneself on the hook) would be abused.

I've been using bps as a killer, got my 4 stacks of bbq then I just farm and let the survivors escape.
But I've been playing as a survivor and most of the matches the killer has body blocked the crown.

It never happen to me so i will never let the survivor escape for free they need to earn it and open the gate or find the hatch before me because honestly i have no reason to help them and they have no reason to help me

I dunno my first two matches with Dweet and Meg I managed to find the crowns and escape ok. But yeah you literally can do absolutely nothing on killer, all you have to do is find the crown then /afk for t3h win.

The times that worked for me were those games, were I either found a crown on the go or when there was one or two gens left.
I think it's better to work on the objectives first instead of going right after the crown. So many survivors currently spawn literally next to me and a gen, and they run off trying to find the crowns.

I've been doing the very opposite. Anyone i see glowing i will let them survive. If however you come anywhere near me with a flash light when I've made my intentions clear. I will tunnel and mori you.

For those of you who want to play hard and make survivors “earn their crowns”, it’s worth mentioning that many of them are your fellow killers who are maybe not so great at survivor, but still want to claim the crowns while available!

Tbh, the killer can just play the game how he wants it. So killing you instead of leaving you with the crown is his choice and you have to deal with it.
I do agree its stupid though, I also let survivors leave when someone DC's early game. Late game depends how the others played.

To everyone saying "if survivors didn't need to escape they'd just suicide," the solution is fairly simple: in order to earn your crown you need to repair for the equivalent of one gen or 1.5 gens. They might suicide after that but at least they'd contribute to the objective for the other survivors first.
As it is now I've seen survivors do next to nothing to contribute to gens or unhooks and they try to play the hatch game. There's no perfect solution to any of this.

I didn't want to play this way but after last night, this will be my plan tonight. I got 5 crowns in 4 hours and maxed out my objective 8k 13/17 matches while teammates ran around doing nothing. Killers ran NOED every match, purple or pink addons, Spirit and Ghostface camped people with crowns and moris almost every match.

I have in fact never done this before. The only time I use the crouch is to thank them if they're letting me go or to signify they can get a free hit on me before I leave, and always exactly once so it doesn't come across as T-bagging. But oh well, believe what you will. :)
I do agree that it can be disheartening when you experience this as a killer and it may lead you to want to take it out on the next survivors you see, but you should always remember those are not the same people that were toxic to you. Spread love, not toxicity (as far as that's possible in a game that requires you to kill people).

Would love to know where you get your math. You're just throwing numbers into the air, because there is no actual quantifiable way to say who BM's more. And it's not insulting, it's fact. People like to act like killers are little babies who get bullied all the time, when they can just as much bullies themselves if they set their mind to it. Ignoring that fact doesn't change things. This community is toxic to it core, and both sides have ######### who just want to ruin other peoples day.
