What if old legacy outfits were "retired" for new exclusive ones?
Players with current legacy retain it, but are granted a new variant that is either a unique "legacy" outfit (an outfit purely for that killer/survivor that is completely unique, ie trapper legacy now becomes a MacMillan jumpsuit with regular Evan face or something), or a variant of the current legacy (think blue, rainbow, a bloodied legacy, a shrouded legacy style you name it) legacy could also tie back to their archive style outfits ie office Dwight etc.
Whilst old legacy was retired for all players to purchase for iri shards/auric cells? Legacy players would retain their status and get an even better/cooler outfit that is either more unique to their legacied killer, or a more unique colored outfit then the orange, as the orange is also shared with the hallowed blight outfits.
It would also allow for newer killers to get legacy variants (ie spirit clown etc) whom weren't around when it existed, whilst furthering the legacy status of older players.
Tldr: legacy players gain an exclusive variant of the current legacy outfit, or a true "legacy" outfit that plays into their lore, with the old/current legacy being retired for all players to purchase. Legacy players would get to keep both the old and the new retaining their status for survivors/killers that they p3'd the bloodweb of.

It's already been confirmed that no new legacy will be released. I'm not looking through 10k posts to find a source, but a source exists.

If this happend, players would complain 1 week after about not having the new exclusive legacy cosmetics. And the cycle would continue.

Yeah ik, this is more of a "what if" thing if I'm being honest. Trying to see what people wish to see.
Also true, but you'll always have people complaining. Hell this was just a sort of compromise scenario I'm trying to think up, but even it has its giant flaws.

Yep. And had they just left event cosmetics alone nobody would have a ######### leg to stand on in the "give us legacy" argument.
But "were removing exclusives for the good of the communuty because some people didnt have the chance to earn them" and excluding legacy when it's the exact same thing, opened up a whole can of worms that they're gonna have to deal with somehow.

What is everyone's obsession with legacy?

It's the last exclusive in game. And their logic of handling event cosmetics for the same reason people ask for legacy has opened the flood gates.

Too many people were never told "no" as children.

No.
It's legacy for a reason. Those players who got it before the blood web was reworked deserve it. Would I like to have it? Yeah, I would. But I respect those players who were there from the beginning, it's cool to see them around - even if it is a rare occurrence.

Honestly I thought it would've been neat if there was some really difficult process in order to earn legacy for survivors that originally couldn't earn it. I.e. deathslinger or david. That way the original 4 survivors and killers could retain their status because it wouldn't be possible to reobtain it for them but gives people a chance to gain it for other characters

give them a year or 2 and they will back off from keeping legacy for players who earn them just like with event skins they can't be trusted

This is actually a pretty good idea, imo. Maybe not have it be the same color or whatever as the original characters' legacy cosmetics were?
1 -
Yeah they could make it silver legacy or something if they wanted. Was just an idea I had.

There's no need to speculate when you already know the answer.
