Do totems
As a solo surv, its quite frustating when you are hooked due to noed after a quite good game. Since SWF can tell each other how many tomes are left in the trial, can you please add a new totems left counter to the ui? This will reduce the gap betwen SWF and solo surv. I am not asking for a noed nerf, but only to know if totems are left in the trial since I cannot hope others players did a totem.

It's not hard to do a quick run through and count the totems as you go. Not even most SWF's know how many totems are left in the trial half the time because they also don't do totems.

It seriously needs to be added. I play solo, and usually with my friend in SWF and both times I always try go for totems. Usually it's for my Inner Strength. When I play with my friend, we try keep track of totems we found, but Solo is a nightmare because nobody seems to touch them whatsoever, leading to NOED deaths. They could just add it to Small Game, since Killers have a totem count on their Thrill of the Hunt perk, so why not survivors too?

you are wrong, Swf know if they did a totem. So they know if they have to run and look for example the 5th totem. As a solo surv, I only know if I did some tomes. But I cannot waste time running aroud looking for a totem that might not be even there since I cannot know. This is a gap betwenn SWF and solo. This topic is about this gap, not about the fact that you have to do totems. I am fine doing totems, but SWF have this huge advantage.

I had 3 red ranks tell me that doing dull totems shows the killer survivor locations and gives an audible que when I am working on it. RED RANK SURVIVORS. I guess this explains why no one does totems? 3 teammates literally surrounded me while I did a totem next to a gen they were working on and blamed me post game for alerting the killer to their location. It had nothing to do with the loud sounds coming from the gen. Even the killer agreed with them. I was in shock that anyone with that much experience could be so stupid.

Yes, but the killer was coming there anyways because he can hear the gen, doing the totem changed nothing. Plus it's ghost face in stealth. Stupid survivors will be stupid. Potato life.

You can't communicate with them so you shouldn't be able to know what they did and what they didn't

You have perks to compensate which you probably don't use, you got maps, and you have your skills. I do solo and I have no problem finding all 5 totems, broken or otherwise. It takes what, 30-40 seconds to do a search of the map and locate all 5 totems?

you are still missing the point. It is clear that I can use a rainbow map or a skill to locate totems, BUT sfw do not have to do so. So theres a gap. Period. Its like the buff to kindred. It was so much usefull since swf had this advantage. You could say " use bond or emphaty to compensate that" but if you have to compensate that means that theres a gap.

That's not what that means, at all.
Killer has momentum? Well that's a gap, better equip DS.
Killer slugs Survivors? Well that's a gap, better equip No-Mither/Unbreakable.
Killer Camps? Well that's a gap, better equip BT.
Killer has a Hex totem? Well that's a gap, better equip Small Game/DH/Map
Killer is good at chases? Better equip exhaustion perks.
This is literally what your perks are designed for is to compensate what you lack so it gives you advantages/even footing against Killers and your fellow teammates. On my Survivor, I run SC, Bond, Iron Will, and a random 4th perk depending on the upcoming match. This gives me all the info I need as a Solo Survivor to stay alive better than SWF's half the time. It's not about closing the gap, it's about having skill. If you're not using perks to compensate for lack of information, you're using perks to compensate for other things you lack. Why else would you equip perks?
Totems are fine where they are at and there shouldn't be a visible counter for them.

Without a Totem Counter (or in a 4 man SWF), it makes no sense to cleanse Totems. As long as not all Totems are cleansed, the time spent on a Totem is wasted. 100% wasted. Yeah, Emblem Points, yeah Bloodpoints... The Emblem Points are not significant and the BPs are in a Category which is the easiest to fill.
In fact, cleansing Dull Totems without a Counter or when Solo is actually hurting the team - no Progression in the Objective and if the easy to spot Totems are gone, NOED will become the most hidden Totem on the Map.
Let alone that NOED is basically a guaranteed second Kill against a camping Killer, because 2 minutes on a Hook are not enough time to do 5 Gens and 5 Totems.

The problem is the game wasn't designed for swf's, or more importantly, being able to communicate w your teammates on the other side of the map. It's something they added, that's completely unbalanced and unfair to solo and killer. Yet, they claim it's fair. This is why there's such a huge balance gap. Until something is done about swf's, nothing will ever change. The game is suppose to be challenging, scary, and keep you on the edge of your seat. Swf's kills that element w a sledgehammer.

Again missing the point. let's take killer camping. Ok I will use BT. BUT in this topic we are talking about the gap between solo and swf. You made some examples that are not related to solo/sfw gap. I'm not saying " Finding totems its hard, should be eazy" but I am saying that as SWF you can always ask your friend if they did some totems and do not waste time.

Neither of the exaples you made is a gap. Killer camping is not a gap. UI information between solo and swf its a gap when it comes to totems

And as I stated in my example when I used myself, you can use Bond, Kindred, Empathy, Detectives Hunch, Small Game, etc. Really ANY perk that gives you information you don't have as bat kit, you can equip a perk to use. There is no gap because you have the PERKS at your disposal but you refuse to break from whatever META you're stuck in so you'd rather ask for more base buff than just using different perks.

If you feel SWF is OP you should want changes like this. The game can't be properly balanced around both SWF and solo queue when SWF has a clear advantage. The only way to remove that advantage and make the game more consistently balanced is to shrink the information gap between SWF and solo queue. The gap is never going to close altogether, but changes like this still make a difference.

If everyone has this mentality, then don't blame killer for using NOED to kill you.
However, a totem counter can still be a nice addition.
