Survivor question, will you consider it a win?

Just played a game as Hag, completely destroyed the team, 5 gens left, 3 dead in 6 minutes, I closed the hatch, and the last one, managed to open the exit gate, and then teabagged me, and said ez afterwards, and that she won.

Would you consider it a win, if it was you exiting in that way. Just curious, as I wouldn't.

Have fun in the fog

I mean obviously for the one that got away that was a win.

Perhaps they were playing Solo Q and they got stuck with terrible teammates. That just means it was even harder for them to survive and get away because they didn't have good enough teammates to cooperate with.

So if they truly did all that they could to get out and they managed to, even if by themselves, that could definitely be considered a win in their book!

Though bragging about it or saying things like "ez" etc are just poor sportmanship and toxic behavior in my opinion.

It was mostly, the T-bag in the end. I just don't get it. Thanks for the answer.

She survived but they as a team lost.

I don't understand anybody who T-bags. It's just stupid and rude.

I will give, that it was a nice exit gate escape. I had trapped one gate, and looked at the other a few times, they were far apart. So kodus for that. But ez was a bit over the top. Thanks for the answer

Technically a win for that survivor but 5 gens still up, team wiped out in 6mins. I would be leaving silently, wouldnt be EZing.

    Yes, yes I would.

No, failing the primary objective of the game is a loss to me. Hatching out before gen completion is me surrendering the game, escaped yes...but still lost, admission of defeat.

Its a 4v1, not a 1v1. You still lost even if you can feel decent about it

I consider getting a solo escape(from either hatch or exit gates) to be a personal draw but a loss for my team overall.

I however feel that if I die while giving my team enough time to escape(Looping a killer for 3-5 gens) then that's an overall win in my book.

I'd say that no, it wasn't a win. If anything they had a draw, or just didn't loose.

If there was say, a single generator left then sure it could be classified as a win. But the team got destroyed and they got lucky with being able to escape.

A survivors success isn't tied to their team. Them getting wrecked has no bearing on how I did.

Thanks all for your comments. No doubt, it was an act of toxicity. I still don't get why we have to be that as a community. If you get a brutal win, normal the chat i silent, if you get stomped, most will laugh at you in the chat.

I try to respect my opponent, and I can get impressed by good killer plays (When im playing survivor)

Have fun and good luck in the fog

Yes but a win or loss is team based. You may have done well, you may have escaped, but as a team you still lost. A baseball player can be the mvp of the night and still tske an L if tge rest of his team sucked that night. This mentality you have is tge reason survivors take it personally when a killer camps or tunnels. Its why they beg for a lot of the nerfs and make a lot of tge complaints they do. You see this game as 1v1, its not. Its a 4v1. You lost.

Not at all. And I consider it a win if I die in the end but other players are able to escape.

That survivor just sounds like a toxic PoS tbh.

You seem to not realize the concept of what DBD is. While survivors have a common goal they are not a team in the normal sense. The game is pitched as a help others or dont. It's a choice and not a forced concept.

Team games you always win or lose as a whole and one person can save it for the others while in DBD others dying has really no bearing on your end goal as you still have the chance too escape and the others gain nothing from you escaping.

This isnt the reason survivors complain about such things like camping. The reason is that it makes for a bad experience and removes being able to take part in the game itself.

It says very clearly in the description you can work as a team or not. It is your choice. You're assuming that I don't do what I can to help my team. I do everything I can. But their depip or death doesn't effect mine.

A good comparison is amateur wrestling. You might win your match. While the team as a whole loses that night. In that case I won. The team didn't.

I wasnt assuming anything. The wrestling thing is a good example. I can go with that.

For me personally, I consider it a generous draw if i escape alone, or die but had fun during the match.

And a victory if I escape with at least one other survivor.

because she pressed crtl button very quickly doesnt make it a loss but lack of respect

    1) I do not tbag the Killer

    2) I don't say ez in chat (except it is obviously funny. f.e. the game did not load in)

    3) A victory for MYSELF is gaining a Pip or sacrificing myself so all others can escape.

    4) A victory for the TEAM is 3 or 4 people escaping (no AFK Killer obviously)

    5) If ALL had fun. That's always a win.

I wouldn't call that a win because I didn't need any skill or brain to win in that situation.

Didn't do the objective at all, but got away because of a ######### mechanic.

They need to keep the whole "if you haven't done enough gens, hatch won't spawn" thing because there are so many times where I'll kill 3 people and then hatch spawns on top of the last guy and they get away without any skill needed.

Playing survivors it's not about me escaping but the team. If the others died you failed to help them. If a killer came to your house and killed your whole family, but you manage to escape would you be happy about that outcome? Or a football/soccer player scoring 2 goals in a game were his team lost, is that a victory for him?

A selfish person would consider this game a win.

Yep, like already said several times, this comment had nothing to do with the game. That was pure ego vomit

And yes, it would be nice if that "rude" stuff would not be in the community, but that's unfortunately not how the world is like

Of course the game's "ez" when your team carries you by engaging the killer the entire match while you M1 objectives.

People who get tbagged find it stupid and rude, but the ones who tbag find it funny purely because they know the other person is getting annoyed. Especially in DbD, since everyone seems to take it to heart so much more in this game than any other game that you can tbag in.

    twistedmonkey Member Posts: 4,296

They did try this but all that happened was the game would go on for longer then they wanted as the only option for survivor was to stealth around trying to do gens.

As a killer would you rather spend a lot of time looking for a survivor or have the game end asap?
