Yeah, currently disabled. Apparently it can be hacked so that people can have long ban times.
Already noticed it, two DCs against a Spirit and I got slugged so that she got her 2K. :]

Penaltys stack but your first one (per 10 hours) will give no ban

Congratulations? I'm sure the rest of the players must have just loved you.

People disconnect/get thrown out of the game once in a while. Don't assume he clicked the leave game button.
1 -
big streamer gets a DC penalty yesterday on stream = disable the DC penalty quick!
4 -
The OP edited the original post. Originally they stated that he/she left 5-6 games and didn't get penalized.
7 -
Ah ok. I agree with you then. It really feels great as a survivor if one of your teammates goes afk or disconnects...
3 -
To be fair, then there is evidence that something is going wrong. I would not trust any random who claims that it was not his fault that they have a penalty. Because most of the time they are lying.
3 -
expecting regular players to record every game in case an error occurs puts a level of evidence on users that is not exactly viable.
In my instance, I had a screenshot showing I was logged on, but got a DC penalty, so how would I disconnect and still be logged in the game? But yeah everyone without a video is lying. Anyone who has experienced DC penalty for no reason of our doing has KNOWN something is wrong for awhile now. Glad they finally have vid proof, but the problem isnt new go count the threads https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/DPP_RankUpdateError

I said "evidence" not "video": Also I said "most of the time" and not "everyone". Would be nice to go for what I actually wrote.
3 -
It's not that everyone without a video is lying, it's that the devs shouldn't auto-disable a key feature to prevent abuse just because someone says it's not working properly. The very idea is rife for abuse.

Its obvious you dont read this much https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/DPP_RankUpdateError
People hardly ever get repies and are left wondering what they even did. As I said yesterday, glad you guys have proof because many of us have known something was wrong becvause we got DC penalty for no reason. But were not believed.
1 -
I will say streamers shouldn’t get preferential treatment, but the reason they did it is because that put it on full display how Their system can’t be trusted. I don’t like that people will DC with no penalty, but seeing someone get a full day ban because someone dislikes them or is screwing around is unfair

Indeed, I don't. On the other hand, the issue described there is nothing compared to the issue that arose, which is that some people were somehow able to increase someone else's DC penalty at will.
1 -
well that forum is filled with people complaining about "DC penalty" considering you denied the problem existed 2 days agop, then admitted it after Tru3 proved it yesterday, glad you have the proof now. Hopefully its fixed hope everyone has a great day
1 -
Even after seeing it happen to Tru I still have my doubts about a lot of those posts. Sure some people got banned for no reason, but as we’ve seen before a good amount of the people complaining they got 6 hours for one Dc are lying.
2 -
Hence my point, despite KNOWING it has affected innocent people, people like you don't believe us anyway.
To you, I did something wrong, I am to blame, maybe I am a cheater or a hacker! But naaah couldn;t be a bug that needs addressing, it much easier to portray the victim as a liar.
1 -
I said that everyone I saw complaining about the issue later admitted to DCing a lot more than they'd initially claimed, which is true.
I didn't "deny" or "admit" anything. I saw no proof for the issue, so I said I'd seen no proof for the issue. Then I saw proof, so I said I saw proof.
I'm also glad we have proof now so the devs can work on fixing it.

With how often people who receive warnings and bans claim to be innocent? Yes, it's absolutely much more likely that you're a cheater or a hacker than an actually innocent person. These systems have a very small percentage of false positives (or else they'd be completely useless).
1 -
In regards to "deny" I was referring to your post in a thread that said:
"yes, it is technically possible this is a heretofore unseen bug, I don't think it's worth considering"
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1394651/#Comment_1394651
That was about 14 hours before Tru3 experienced it. I know you guys cant believe everyone, thats a given, my point is how no one is really believed, including myself./
1 -
Indeed, it wasn't worth considering because of how common false claims of innocence are. Then evidence was actually shown, so I took that into account and reached a new conclusion. This is how people are supposed to behave when presented with new evidence.
2 -
"Yes, it's absolutely much more likely that you're a cheater or a hacker than an actually innocent person."
wows ok man, I guess thats just how it crumbles. Guilty until proven innocent.
1 -
I spoke of probability, so why are you speaking of certainty?
1 -
I didn’t say you, I didn’t say anyone in particular, I’m saying that yes it is a real thing whether it’s a bug or a hack. I agree with them temporarily stopping the SC penalties because of it.
But I still think a lot of people are using bugs as an excuse.
2 -
Guilty until proven innocent how this world work use to be innocent until proven Guilty not anymore.
1 -
The community has been asking for MONTHS to lift the DC penalty 'cause of the ######### servers that throw you of the match = No response.
True got a bugged/hacked DC penalty = OK BOYS IT'S TIME TO REVIEW THE DC PENALTY.
3 -
Why was taking DC penalty doen so swift and easy. But any other troubles takes forever.
1 -
Because when you use to DC you get no penalty to your rank so it was a major exploit

Ive had 3 games where 2 people dcd today, anyone who thinks the penalty isnt necessary can bite me
