Survivors in party chat.

Title says it all, is there anything devs can so to prevent survivors using party chat to coordinate during matches. This gives survivors ridiculous advantage as they can relay killer position as well as any other relevant things in real time, a realize there will always be work around but this is an issue that ruins matches for the killer.

    Short answer: no.

Because DbD has no internal voice communication system (game chat) and there isn't really an effective way to prevent players from using the many third-party options available (Discord, Xbox Live, PSN, Skype, even Facetime or a conference call among friends provides this communication). Heck, you could have 2+ guys playing together online while sitting in the same room and just talking to each other. Unless the devs can invent a way to pop out of your monitor/TV and referee whether these services are in use, blocking SWF communication is probably off the table.

Heck, what other games do you know of that block comms like this? The last ones I remember kind-of seeing this system in were old CoD games (forcing game chat in Search & Destroy and sometimes Hardcore, that was it). And their voice restrictions were exclusive to console play thanks to the party service being built-in to the hardware.

Frankly, it would probably be more realistic to just add some form of game chat to let all survivors talk to each other and then go balancing perks & powers around that consideration instead.

Very true. You can't ever stop the same room scenario but it could have a software update that prevents it from matchmaking if you are in a party. You are still screwed with third party chat providers but simply removing the built in option would probably slow it down. I agree through that rebalancing perk with the fact that many do so in mind would be a more sofisticated solution.

Ultimately the only way the devs could make up for the communication advantage is by giving either a disadvantage to all SWF groups or an advantage to the killer when facing SWF. Someone suggested an increase in bloodpoints or a decrease in points required to pip when facing SWF. That way the killer is rewarded for facing a much more challenging team, but the SWF group isn't upset by any disadvantage given to them.

The Killer should be awarded a BP multiplier based on how many group people they are facing.

    Duo - x1.5

    Trio - x2

    Quad - x4
