Spine chill needs a little nerf
Spine chill shouldn't work against a killer that has the undetectable status. What's the point of playing a stealth killer if that perk CTRL + ALT + DELETES the whole stealth bit? Pls change the misleading status name or actually make the killer Undetectable.
"Undetectable
/ʌndɪˈtɛktəb(ə)l/
adjective
Not able to be detected."

No. I play both sides and can say this perk has a counter: don't look straight at the survivors/gens while approaching. Easy as that.
No need to nerf a perk that has a simple counter.

Yeah you just crab walk or fake a look while walking backwards when you spoke a gen. This was brought up two weeks ago here
3 -
Did you killers really run out of things to complain about and now you want to nerf Spine chill?
Yeah, go ahead. What's next on the agenda? Boil Over? Deja Vu?
7 -
spine chill is just boring against a stealth squad, it doesn't need a nerf. There are many other perks way stronger than spine chill.
2 -
If you know someone has spine chill you can just look away and spine chill users are EASIEST to grab if you do that, because they trust spine chill so much they wont look around AT ALL
oh and i forgot GIT GUT, because sory if you want to nerf sth that has clear counterplay,

Spine chill is fine.
do you prefer survivors using DS, unbreakable, BT, Adrenaline all the time? thats not better belive me.
Spine chill is very balanced. i suggest the devs to look into OoO first.
5 -
you cal already counter it by not looking straight all the time
counter
/ˈkaʊntə/
verb
3rd person present: counters
- speak or act in opposition to.

It's not even that good. Definitely doesn't need a nerf.

True. It's such an underrated perk that negates most powers of stealth killers.

Tier 1 Myers should be immune to Spine Chill. He's slow and he needs to look at survivors to stalk them. He used to be immune while in EW tier 1, back before the "Undetectable" status was a thing; it was changed for "consistency," but making everything consistent across the board ruins some of the uniqueness of the killers.
3 -
Chill is fine imo. OoO is overpowered on the other hand.
2 -
Spine CHill should not have infinite procs though. Killer perks like BBQ you get 12 procs max
Perks like Alert and SPine Chill proc miimum 25 times per match, it needs to be tokened or something like Distortion is.

Cooldown*

Thats not a little nerf. That would be massive.

Do we really want to reduce the amount of perks survivors use even more? Nerf spine chill and the survivors that used it will just replace it with bt/ds etc etc
And if anyone gets to be salty at spine chill it should be me, first wraith game in a long time featured 3 spine chills (and one premonition, lmao)

Semantics is not a good argument to justify gameplay balancing. If you really want to argue that way, then Undetectable in DbD has a meaning that is clearly defined, i.e. not TR, no red stain and immunity from aura reading. For the rest, it's simply the name given to a game mechanic and Spine Chill is working as intended regarding said mechanic.
1 -
Oh come on, I dont use any second chance perks, spine chill is the only perk I use that affects the killer, please dont try take that away from me lol

If you reach the maximum procs for BBQ, you aren't exactly thinking "Man, if only BBQ could proc one more time..."
0 -
I understand, however, I also play survivor everyday and anyone who runs Spine Chill or Alert can see, you get minimum of 25 procs per match. Telling you where the killer is constantly and if he is coming to you. I run both as survivor infinite procs can be a bit much
0 -
Hey man, you never know if a 5th survivor bugged itself into the match
Imagine getting 5 bbq stacks

Spine Chill is fine. Tier 1 Myers should be made 110%
1 -
I hope it doesn't get nerfed. I use Spine Chill because of stealth killers. If Spine Chill doesn't activate against them, then what is the point of using it? For the other killers you can just hear the terror radius and know they are close, you wouldn't need the perk.

I think Tier 1 Myers is immune to spine chill and premonition.
0 -
He used to be, they changed it so they do detect him now but they also removed his tier 1 terror radius completely. Which is a shame really bc scratched mirror just isn't the same if you're running spine chill.

First off, Spine Chill and Premonition are the only ways to counter stealth. I'm pretty sure that spine chill was originally meant for speeding up actions, and its main use was an unforeseen perk of the...perk. but still, it has a bit of a counter play, and, I mean, stealth already hard counters Borrowed Time, so... yeah. Be happy with that.

Of all the call for nerfs, this has gotta be the most outlandish.
I mean, nerd spine chill, c'mon man

Spinechill is that one perk that went under the radar as ridiculously strong for a very long time. I'm surprised it hasn't been nerfed, considering the information it gives you.
Perks far stronger than it won't be touched, so don't expect Spinechill to be. It's not really that strong regardless.

What? It has 12 procs because that is the max you can hook anyone in a given game before winning. You would never need more than 12.

The main issue i have is that it stacks with resilience making vaults way to fast and safe.
And before you come at me, devs themselves said they don't want perks to stack like this, hence why thana sloppy and DL don't work well together

Even with the vault build, killers can still hit you with the lunge.

That totally sucks. I main survivor and think that should not be a thing. Plus this perk kills the horror aspect of the game completely.

It's not like Spine Chill COMPLETLY counters the "undetectable" status.
It doesn't need a nerf, It's completly fine as it is.
1 -
I love it when people say "it's not that good", but my own data shows it to be a meta perk. If it's so bad, why are 38% of survivors i go against using it?
Oh, I'll tell you why, because of the increased vault speed and the massive buff to window hits. The detection is the least of my concerns.

I also think it’s fine as is. If a survivor is catching wind of you coming before you get there, simply don’t look their way. It sounds awful but it works so well. It even works in the terror radius! I’ve gotten grabs as Plague because I suspected survivors had the vault speed build, they trust in Spine Chill too much.
Spine Chill is also the only way to counter Undetectable perks, which are often given for no effort at all (Tinkerer, Trail of Torment, Insidious). Spine Chill is the only way to counter silent bell Wraith or a competent Ghostface.
On another note, Myers and Ghostface can stalk from 40m away while Spine Chill procs at 32m(?), if you’re able to, gain some distance and you can stalk people without them noticing at all.

Really? Spine Chill? Perks like DS exist, and youre out here worrying about Spine Chill? Spine Chill is one of the most balanced perks in the game.
