We are excited to announce the beta for crossfriends, a new feature coming to Dead by Daylight. Crossfriends updates the existing in-game friends list with the ability to add friends from different platforms, allowing you to invite them to your lobbies.

Adding Friends

To add a friend, simply head to your friends list and enter your friend’s ID. Your ID is listed at the top of the friends list. Alternatively, clicking on the name of someone in the lobby or after the match will give you the option to add them to your friends list or block them from sending you requests.

The crossfriends beta is available on Steam and Windows Store starting July 6th. This beta will be used to ensure that the feature is stable before extending it to consoles. In case of emergency, we are able to disable the system without a client update.

FAQs

When will I be able to add my friends on consoles / mobile?

For consoles, we aren’t able to provide an ETA on this just yet, but we’ll share more information when we’re closer to the release of crossplay for consoles.

For mobile, we do not have any plans for crossfriends or crossplay between PC / consoles and mobile at this time.

What is the difference between crossplay, crossfriends, and crossprogression?

Crossplay: Allows you to be matched with players on other platforms.

Crossfriends: Allows you to add players on other platforms and invite them to your matches.

Crossprogression: Allows you to share your progress between the different platforms you play on.

Will I still be able to add friends through Steam?

Yes! The crossfriends feature does not replace your Steam friends list. Your Steam friends will still appear in the in-game friends list, and now you’ll be able to add people from other platforms as well.

What happens if I change my name on Steam? Will it update for my friends?

Yes. Your name in-game is still synced to the name on the platform you’re playing on.

Will blocking someone prevent me from being matched with/against them?

No. Blocking someone will only prevent them from sending you requests.

What if I accidentally send the wrong person a friend request?

Don’t worry, you can cancel outgoing friend requests at any time.

I found a bug.

That’s not a question, but please be sure to report it here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs
