Basement locked killer can't pick up survivor

I was playing on the Ironworks map (I think) and was hiding in the locker on the left of the basement, the one that is like under the stairs. Was jumping in and out and got hit, when I fell next to the locker the killer couldn't pick me up, could only open the locker.
