Plague Corrupt purge hit detection is off

I just played a trial with Plague and her corrupt purge had no hit detection. I noticed it while trying to use it against a survivor playing as Ace. When being looped around the killer shack on one of the Crotus Prenn asylum maps with a fully replenished corrupt purge I couldn't hit the survivor at all.
Not sure if it's down to my skill or a bug in the game.
