Is it okay to facecamp when the gates are open?

I got bullied in chat cause I camped; but here's the kicker, the gates were open. Is this okay?

    It's okay to camp at 5 gens at the beginning of game. It's not fun for either party IMO and probably get you hate messages but it's still fine. Play the way you want as long as it's within the rules.

    As a direct answer yes it is fine. There's not much else to do then defend your kill and hope people get altruistic. Unless you know people aren't by the gates and you can get them leaving the hook means everyone will get out.

    Personally when I’m not playing as my killer main.I find it boring as a survivor especially when the killer is an experienced user who camps.But when it’s a noob I can understand why they did it because they don’t know that you lose points camping a survivor on hook.

    Facecamping is a strategy (for extremely altruistic survivors) and you don't need to seek someone's approval to see if it is okay or not.

    99% of the time it's the only way to get anything by facecamping with open gates. Just rarely you can get more by leaving.

    Honestly after the gates are open or the generators are powered all bets are kind of off. Especially if you don't have any end game perks like rancour or blood warden to clear up


    What are you meant to do there's no more generators to patrol and chasing a survivor to a gate that's most likely 99% is a waste of your time.

    Is it fun for the survivor in question probably not but if you see fit to do so do it. You shouldn't need validation from the survivors in the match or any other people.

    If they're trying to spit the venom at you because of it just simply leave the chat or block them

    Earkier today i was playing hag, mothers dwelling came up. Mothers dwelling is huge and the gens are pretty far apart, I had lost before it even started as there was no "territory" for me to claim.

    So, i downed a guy and set my web up around him. Long story short I shifted the objectuves for tge surcivors from gens to trying to get their teamates. Ended with a 3k, a pip and 148000 bps. The last 2 did finish the last gen and 1 got away through exit gates, but they couldnt be happy with that.

    Point is, yes, camping is fine as long as it works. If you camp and only got 1k then you should feel bad

    Tell us reason why you shouldn't facecamp when you have no reason to patrol around all finish gens

    Camping can being annoying, but do whatever you want. People are gonna complain about it no matter what.
